Local kid, could be another snag from the sens?

Likely costly... talking Cossa/1strdp/roster player...

He's young, Larkin/Raymond/Norris/Debrincat with Edvinsson/Seider/Sandin-Pellikka would be a solid cast moving forward. Hurts losing Cossa because it looks like he'll slide right in when called for the next 10 years or more. Idk how true the rumors even are, but this is a guy we should be sniffing all over. Cost might be too much, but he's really what Yzerman needs in this rebuild like, right now.( Qualified 2nd line center. )

Unless a Copp or Compher is going back in the trade, getting a second line center with Kasper up and Danielson waiting in the Wings seems pointless.

Plus I am very confident in saying, Cossa is going nowhere.

I'd rather keep Cossa I think. We are a team building from the back end we need that star goalie to compete with the way Yzerman has built this roster. Maybe Augustine + 1st, but 8 mil is a lot to pay a guy that has yet to really sniff PPG and really has only had one good offensive season. I have not watched him enough to know if that 35 goal season seems more like an AA fluke or that he could do it consistently if he got out of Ott. I like the solid faceoff percentage but the GP and goals to assists ration for a center are a bit of a red flag.

As stated this is largely based on limited viewing of him playing the Wings and stat watching, but to make a Cossa +1st type deal at his salary, I'd really have to think the guy had Raymond type potential.

Norris is a good player, but he's always hurt and makes close to 8 mil. In his last 71 games he has 44 points, and that's over two seasons because injuries. He is on pace for 50-60 pts this season.

He got paid because of the one year he had 55 pts in 66 games. Can he return to that? I dunno.

I'm with you really. He's a gamble, he's also extremely young. I think he's got room for improvement, if he stays healthy*.

Cossa is really close to a sure thing franchise goalie, so, idk the 1st rounder doesn't hurt me. Taking Cossa doesn't "kill" me but it tugs my nuts and I don't like that.

I want Norris, really, just not at a huge cost. Willing to deal the 1st round pick but the prospects they'll likely ask for get dicey.

Not a chance I give up Cossa for Norris.

You give up a goalie prospect like Cossa, it has to be for a 24-26yo Top 10 1C. You don't give up a Cossa for a hope and a prayer.
Idk if he's a " Hope and a prayer" but he's not a top ten center.

He's legitimatley a good player, 2nd line center type dude. Good at face-offs. Has skill, also... gets hurt... that's his issue more than, "does he have it". He's good, only what? 24 or something so can get better even, but will he stay healthy ever is a good, good question.

He's not top 10 C material so if that's what you expect then you'll easily pass, and I understand that.

Norris is one concussion away from retirement it feels like. I'd stay far away personally.

Now, if the Rags are prepared to part with Kreider or Zibby or Trouba on the cheap, I'd be interested.
I thought he had "shoulder" issues more than concussions... I honestly didn't know that. I'm not sure I'd even consider a move if he's got concussion issues.

My mistake, you are correct. it is shoulder issues. Sorry it seems like I've had one too many concussions.

But the sentiment stands, of he's a shoulder injury away from being in the old folks home.

I would hate Quenneville here so f***ing much. Jesus christ. He should never have a job again.
I don't blame him for someone else's actions

I believe her residency ends in July and the speculation is the further along the in the season the more likely he would be willing to move.

I have mixed emotions, personally just still trying to analyze the Wallman deal. I suspect if something like I wrote happened we would get a sweetener as well, but not sure what that would be.
Trouba is just a name. He takes dumb penalties and is a slow skater. I rather we signed Dumba if we just want this type of player.

If the bruins miss out on the playoffs this year, does anyone think Brandon Carlo has a chance of being up for grabs? I think he would be an absolute perfect defenseman for this team to take the next step.

I think Friedman's talk of Rangers looking to shake things up mentioning Krieder and Trouba is mostly a shot across the bow to the team at this point, but what if:

The future considerations in the Wallman trade was Holl. We send Gustafsson back to NYR in exchange for Trouba.

NYR get a out from under Trouba and 6 million to do what they need, along with a player they had success with last year.

DRW gets 2 years (including this season) of:

Ed-Seider
Chiarot - Trouba

While letting ASP season properly. Then Chiarot moves on, Trouba role/contract TBD.

??? - Seider
Ed-ASP
???- Trouba?

I mean it doesn't solve the world hunger problem, but I don't hate it either.

Mostly mindless speculation and connecting the dots on a slow holiday week, but food for thought. Fire away!
Chiarot and trouba is an equally bad if not worse pairing than chiarot and petry.

I think Sweeney will hold on and look to spend again next summer.

Reggie, I will never forgive you for placing the the thought that there is a potential pairing worse than Chiarot and Petry in my head.

I hope the f***ing plant in your lousy little town with "hair that makes (you) sick, (your) allergy go puke" shuts down.

I really think they sell expiring's and reboot next offseason. I don't think they're in total rebuild from ground up.

a rapist defender is not as bad as a rapist, but hes still bad

there are many other coaches that exist and quenneville wont turn this team into a contender
it would send a terrible message to the league and would be a horrible look for a franchise that prides itself on integrity, playing the right way, etc

At the end of the day I think our pro scouting sucks so expecting them to have any sort of impact is a fools errand. Just gotta keep hoping our draft picks hit cause yzerman and co are way out of touch when it comes to acquiring talent elsewhere.

From what I've understood from the case is that he basically completely ignored it vs trying to handle it. I'm not sure he was ever accused of actually defending the video coach or "covering" anything up. Think his statement in the "findings" was literally, " We have the playoffs to worry about right now" or something along those lines.

Did he end up ever firing that coach?

I guess in a round about way you could say he defended him. I'm not in favor of Quenneville, I just think he ignored the situation vs trying to handle. Still scummy.

I think ignoring that situation is maybe a half step removed from defending it.
