Shane Wright might be a nice buy low candidate in the next 6-8 months, I'd be curious what it would take for Francis to move him

I was going to post this in the Kasper thread, but this will work too - 2 points in 18 games and a healthy scratch the last 2. #4 pick in Kasper's draft.

My fear (I admit I haven't watched him play recently) is may suffer from Zadina Syndrome...Wright was the projected 1OA and fell to 4OA, there is still time and maybe a change in scenery would do him wonders, but I cannot see Francis giving up on him too soon.

depends what you're expecting of him. I thought his offense was always a question mark and he was billed as "the next Bergeron" where if things went right he would be superb defensively with enough offense to make him a top 2C. That feels like the opposite of Zadina who was supposed to be an offensive dynamo.

I'm with you on Francis not selling him soon, though. And if we look at other guys like Lafreniere, who seemed to really figure things out at 22, and Kaako who is finally looking like he's getting it going at 23...being patient makes a lot of sense. Not every kid, regardless of draft position, steps in and takes off right away.

As trade talks heat up around the NHL, the Flyers might be a key team to watch, especially for one name in particular. According to Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast, multiple teams have grown interest in 25-year-old forward Morgan Frost.

Mildly interested in him. I wouldn't give up early picks, but I'd look into what they want and do a possible player swap with low pick attached depending on the player going the other way.

Winged Wheel Podcast gave some airtime to the David Jiricek trade talks. Might be an interesting option on RD. Not sure I’d want to pay the asking price though. They estimated a second and a B tier prospect but I think the ask if more and that there’s a team out there that pays more than the second and a B.

St. Louis already willing to trade him?

You mean David Jiricek? He’s the one potentially available. Not sure we need to spend assets on another righty right now.

What do you want to trade Seider or Edvinsson, hell no. If there are trade talks it's means something not right with guy. What we need is good veteran LD, someone who could play with Seider, Ed and ASP other pair

That's good to know, honestly. I don't know a ton about him outside of maybe a dozen games over two yeas, so. yeah.
I mean if the price was ok, I'd still try hell anything is worth a shot. When he is on you can see the skill, but when he is off woo boy he would fit right in here in that regard lol. Zero defense and grit.

Definitely wouldn’t do it if it cost anything near that. I think that would be the opening ask but think they go down given the trouble they’ve been having with him lately.

I hope by end of the season Lombardi and Mazur with Red Wings and next season Danielson , ASP, MBN and probably some one else. Like to have some Veteran defansman in top 4

Would be amazing if we can fix it internally instead of Yzerman spending more cap on these "well maybe he can be good for us" players.

Because they usually don't. Unless it was a Marner or Rantanen of course.

I like Chychrun as a player but between injuries and fitting into a club he seems to be somewhat unreliable, or at least I think the player you get can vary pretty greatly.

Also after a cap increase this summer his agent will probably get him a contract north of $60M, potentially even ~$70M give or take. That’s a big investment.
