I was playing around looking at some advanced stats and happened to see this. Low Danger Goals Against:

I know PDO is out there as a measurement of "luck", but man, Chiarot and Petry being league leaders in garbage goals against seems like maybe an indicator that they maybe aren't as bad as they seem and won't be the cause of so many losses in the future

I have to say, as president of the Chiarot hater club, that these games under McLellan have been the very best games I've ever seen him play and by like 2 standard deviations. He looks so good right now (at least compared to normal).I feel like that has a lot to do with the tremendous shot disparity they were giving up as a pairing. More shots = more opportunities for garbage goals
Chiarot has been tremendous under McLellan so far

Chiarot has taken a lot of shit from his first season when his Dad was dying and he+Mo were playing thehardest minutes in the league.I would argue that part of Chiarot and the other D looking better is a result of the better puck support and zone exits. I've been saying Chiarot gets too much grief here. And a lot of the problems were from running around after getting pinned in their own end.
I'd be curious to see stats on how much the Wings have been spending in the offensive versus defensive zone since Mclellan took over.
