I legitimately like McDonald’s hot black coffee. Like whatever bean or roast they use is consistently solid across the country.

Haven’t had their ice cream in a brick but crushed it in HS.

Once every 2ish years I’m like “a McDouble would be good rn”. Then I get one and it never is. Must be nostalgia propping it up.

That's because the McDouble is too much of McD's super weird meat concentrated in one spot.

The only reason the Big Mac works at all is the razor thin patties separated by the extra bun to provide a buffer to overwhelming your tastebuds with the distinct flavor of worms and soylent green.

The Caps have not picked higher than 8th (2023, Ryan Leonard).

The year they burned it down at the deadline, they traded the following pieces:
Dimitry Orlov (pending UFA)
Garnet Hathaway (pending UFA)
Marcus Johnansson (pending UFA)
Erik Gustafsson (pending UFA)
Lars Eller (pending UFA)

They did not trade anyone with term. The Pens have traded their assets who were UFAs - Guentzel, Eller, DOC, Pettersson. They haven't traded guys with term, other than Bunting.

They didn't have any anyone wanted lol.

It's like a mix between this, The Bog of Eternal Stench and a Rube Goldbergian mechanism being held together with cheese, coffee and various brown liquors.
Listen man even if a system runs on pure f***ing chaos, it's still a system and anything being outta place brings it all tumbling down.

For a guy like MacKinnon, I think if he took a bite of an Arby's sandwich, he'd be LTIR for a year.

Exactly! See I knew SOMEONE would understand that I'm basically a finely tuned athlete like Nathan MacKinnon and REQUIRE liquor and cheese to properly achieve my peak performance.

Why is it so hard for some people to grasp this?

So, after reading a few of Dubas's quotes, I am even more pessimistic about the state of the team. He clearly mentioned NOT going after 27-32 year olds, which takes Mitch Marner out of the equation.

And, it's great that he wants to move picks/prospects for young talent. But that young talent will come in and take the spot of a Koivunen, a McGroarty, a Pickering, a Blomqvist, a Brunicke et al.

Why? Two reasons. One, we have a full roster of players under contract already, especially if you factor in the RFAs on the team. And of course, two...the man behind the bench.

So, I am good with Dubas quotes now for this year. Spare me, Kyle. I don't need to hear anything from you other than, "we have decided to make a change behind the bench..."

Dubas trading for a 33 year old defender and then turning around trading away 28 year old 40 goal scorer 7 months later is one of the craziest swings in direction I’ve ever seen.
In the 2017-18 season the Ottawa Senators traded for Matt Duchene on Nov. 5, 2017. Duchene was 26 at the time. Before the season ended, they had traded away both Dion Phaneuf and Derick Brassard. Before the start of the next season, they traded Erik Karlsson away.
Sometimes the Hail Mary play doesn't work.

It just comes down to whether someone feels a 2nd and 3rd is worth 7 mil and a lineup spot. It's not like they're trading Hayes at the deadline, and he's not gonna make any difference in reaching or missing the playoffs.
Personally I think weaponizing our cap this way is exactly what we should be doing.
I don't consider it to be a given that we're not trading Hayes away. One of the insiders (I think it was Friedman, but it may have been Johnston) said that before the Devils decided on trading for Glass, there were talks with them about Hayes. If they might have been interested in a Hayes with term, I don't see why it's out of the question that he could be traded without term.
Centers are in short supply in the league right now. If he were a winger, I'd be less optimistic about potentially trading him. Since he's a center, though, I could see it happening even before the season.

Well, if we get anything for him, I expect it to be a very weak return.

Arby's is wild. I think the only place I'd feel more confident in giving me food poisoning is White Castle.
What? Doesn't Taco Hell do it for you with all their condiments sitting open all day without covering them/changing them collecting gunk and stuff....

Slap up some of that stuff in the Taco Hell sauce.....

Fair enough point but I would say consistency across locations is the hallmark of a quality fast food chain at least by my metrics. Burger King and KFC suffer badly from the same issue you bring up.

Word. Valid.
The only fast food franchise I've ever eaten at which seems to always be pretty good is Chic Fil A. They run a pretty tight ship.

Mcdonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy's, etc....it's gonna depend greatly on where you go.

I want Dubas to avoid signing anyone.

So far, he's done well in trades besides a few. We'll see how his draft turns out. That said, I can't think of anyone he's signed besides maybe Lizotte and Grzelcyk that's panned out.

Yeah... well... anyway... is it just me or has Wendy's gone like... WAY downhill the last ten-ish years?

It used to be a favorite guilty fast food pleasure but I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot barge pole, now.
Wendy's went downhill the day after Dave died, and his daughter took over. She right away changed out the juicy hamburgers that Wendy's was famous for to go in a healthier direction.

American Burger

A long, long time ago before 2002
I can remember how that Wendy's hamburger used to make me smile
So, bye, bye, Mr. Davey Thomas die...d.
Drove my chevy to the Wendy's but the hamburger was dry
Wendy took over and changed the burger and everyone cried
The good old boys were drinking sweet tea inside
Singing, "this'll will be the day that I die, this'll be the day that I die"
That's the day.... "The Wendy's Hamburger".... die...d!

I didn't go to Wendy's to eat healthy.

R.I.P. Dave's Double and Cheese.

Beau worked out well enough too. Boring as hell to watch but got the Pens another 2nd (albeit late) which is cool.

• Karlsson was so bad during much of this season that many people within the Penguins organization were stunned. His first season in Pittsburgh was, in a word, underwhelming. His second season, while not completely disastrous, was not anything close to acceptable for a likely Hall of Fame player. Dubas made it clear during his season-ending news conference that he wasn’t pleased by Karlsson’s performance.

The Yohe dunking continues. Will be sad to see when EK65 goes because Yohe will actually have to do journalism again instead of just blaming EK and Hextall for everything.
It’s also going to be sad because all of a sudden he’s going to look really good again and people are gonna be like “man, where was that guy in Pittsburgh.”

Truth. I prefer Popeyes to Chic Fil A at Popeye's best, but I've had plenty of bad Popeyes and very little bad Chic Fil A.

That's an easy one... Where was the quality in Pittsburgh period.

The top 5 players were on an Island. I really don't see how Dubas can call anyone out. He made the bed, so I really do not see how he doesn't take all the blame on his shoulders.

Because he needed to learn to play the right way

Didn’t our top 2-3 coach assure us, like he has for all defensive players, that he was working with Karlsson to fix his game? Thank god he intervened or just imagine what EK would have looked like defensively…
