That's exactly what those tweets were. Hell, the two tweets had the same exact words said. It's obviously negotiating through the media.

I really don't get the Marner stuff. I like that dude's game more than most and have always found it absurd how he's the first one walked to the gallows every time the Leafs fail, but it makes no sense to me. This team's not a Marner away from competing. Sullivan's absolutely gonna turn a 100pt all-around gem into like a 70pt dork. He has no reason to sign here, with a team that's dead in the water and is only gonna get worse (he's getting bank wherever he ends up).

I do think he gets moved at some point in the next 24hrs, the prices are too high to not pounce...LA, Ottawa, Utah, Toronto, WSH, etc. So many places can use him right now
