Looking at Twitter for some rumors, Columbus is also looking for a top-6 RW via trade before the deadline.
Columbus is asininely deep in quality young players, but that trade gets tough when we're talking about a division rival trade.
We traded Jake in division last year.
BingoAll this talk about leverage Dubas has. I'm/we're going to be so disappointed, aren't we?
I'm sure there is some concern about Sid having nobody to play with but given that Rust is still here I don't see the big deal with moving Rakell. I would hope Dubas isn't that dumb.Just like Kings fans should be concerned that their idiot GM will trade Clarke for Rakell, Penguins fans should be concerned that their idiot GM will hold onto Rakell despite a strong market to trade him for "we want to compete" nonsensical reasons.
Sid is not dumb. He has to understand we’re not making the playoffs this season. Trade Raks and just play geno - sid - rust as a line to get sid and geno their points, and let the team lose as much as possible otherwiseI'm sure there is some concern about Sid having nobody to play with but given that Rust is still here I don't see the big deal with moving Rakell. I wonder if Dubas and Sid have had a legit discussion about how this team is bet going to compete again? Sid isn't stupid. He's been around long enough. He knows how difficult it is to get the guys needed to be competitive. He knows how tough it is to find good value FA contracts. He knows it takes assets to make trade. I'd like to know if they had a discussion based around tanking for the draft picks. Seems to me, adding Hagens/Misa and McKenna would be the quickest way to competing again. Hell, after that, you could probably even justify sending out a 1st/2nd/prospect to help the final year with Sid.Just like Kings fans should be concerned that their idiot GM will trade Clarke for Rakell, Penguins fans should be concerned that their idiot GM will hold onto Rakell despite a strong market to trade him for "we want to compete" nonsensical reasons.
What I'm most glad about is that he wasn't re-signed, locking up 72 million or w/e for no purpose until he's 38.It's too bad the market wasn't like this when Jake was available.
I mean the package we got for him seems like it might end up fine because Brunicke and Koivunen are both looking good but going by this year's prices Jake would have brought back an insane haul
Jake was a UFA however…It's too bad the market wasn't like this when Jake was available.

We need to lose all our remaining games lol…picking 5-7 in this draft is still a crapshoot…need to get into the top three ideally…Sid is not dumb. Define "good player with term left" that isn't Raks? That pretty much covers it for our tradeable assets that could actually move. Rust ain't going anywhere. They aren't going to hurt Josh Yohe's feelings like that. Can we at least get something out of this? If Dubas moves some pieces (not necessarily Raks, but “good” players with term left), will people be like, “oh I was wrong to complain about him doing nothing days before the deadline?”
And yea, if he does nothing, of course you can continue to complain
Playing Florida in round one is a toughieTampa is getting scary. Just added 2 good players to a team that has the 3rd best GD in the league.
Vasy is .924 this year. He's back. They'll have Guentzel in the playoffs now.
They may not be done for this deadline yet either.
If they do lose it's gonna be a TOUGH out.
Could still win the division and change that. 3 points back of the Leafs. Even on games with 21 left.Playing Florida in round one is a toughie

I still don’t know if he gets moved. It’s entirely possible Sid really wants him as his winger for the last couple years and he’s relatively cheap.
He’s a tradeable asset, but he’s not a negative now or next year and could still be a summer trade, like EK. I dunno…I feel like it’ll just be Gryz, Beau, Acciari who get moved in deadline stuff.
Hard not to root for them with Jake there. And I really like Bjorkstrand as well. A Florida-Tampa ECF would be awesome.Tampa is getting scary. Just added 2 good players to a team that has the 3rd best GD in the league.
