The Devils are great bets to play Carolina if the Hurricanes trade Rantanen to New Jersey. Not saying it WON'T happen, but that package would probably be rather Ron Francis-Bjorkstrand like.

Looking at Twitter for some rumors, Columbus is also looking for a top-6 RW via trade before the deadline.

Columbus is asininely deep in quality young players, but that trade gets tough when we're talking about a division rival trade.

Jarmo had a big chip on his shoulder and tried to force the Pittsburgh rivalry crap for years and years. Waddell on the other hand has a rapport with Dubas w/ the Guentzel trade.

I don't know whether Columbus would do it, but 2 young guys that stick out as really attractive targets if the Penguins were to move Rakell there are Sillinger and Mateychuk. I have a feeling neither would be achievable, because both are playing significant roles on Columbus right now, but Sillinger especially would fill a huge organizational need in the long run.

Only 21 years old, 29 points in 54 games with no PP production looks really solid. With Monahan and Fantilli down the middle, I feel like Columbus could survive moving Sillinger if they wanted to. I'm just super doubful they would move him, at least for Rakell, and Mateychuk feels even less likely.

Yes, however, their peak and our hopefully next peak are pretty far apart, as long as the return is good, I'd be fine with trading with rivals right now, and with the crap Columbus has been through this year, I'd love to see them do well.

I've thought about trade proposals on main board with Sillinger coming back. But I just can't see it. Hometown boy and all.

I don't think the problem is Rakell to Columbus. It's futures from Columbus to Pittsburgh, I don't think they'd want to give the Penguins a future 2C like Sillinger.

I think it's more likely they go for Boeser, but if it's Rakell to Columbus, I figure it would be something like one of their 2025 1sts, Del Bel Belluz and another pick/prospect. Del Bel Belluz feels very similar to Koivunen in terms of upside and current ability, I think he probably has 2C upside.

Rakell and Acciari to Anaheim for Zegras, 3rd

Karlsson (5 mill retained) to LA for Clarke

Rangers 1st, 2026 2nd, Broz to NYR for Lafreniere

Draft Martone

I think the market is such that we are fairly likely to find a taker for Acciari, which is good. But of course, we will recall Nieto to replace him on the roster, which is not so good.

Getting a fifth rounder seems almost irrelevant in that context. Especially when Sullivan, I mean Dubas, re-signs Nieto this summer.

He's been waived twice. I don't think he's coming back.
