I think the Hurricanes have internal replacements for both Orlov (Nikishin) and Burns (Morrow), so I doubt they are going to go hard after Karlsson. I think most teams will look at Karlsson on the periphery, hoping for a deal like the one Dubas got in the first place. THAT is why we should hang onto him.
On another note, one thing that seems to be under-reported or under the radar is this whole Kolyachonok thing. I mean, he is 23 years old and has 62 NHL games under his belt, including 23 this season. IF we can't give this guy a shot, then who will?
It's absolutely nuts that he has yet to debut for one of the worst defensive teams in the league, AND we have had injuries on defense too. It's Puljujarvi all over again.
Can we start to call the head coach out based on his tendency to hate on European players?
