His performance didn't necessarily deserve him to play more, but that isn't really my point.
My point is that Blomqvist is going to be 24 next year. This idea that he needs to go down to the AHL and cook is fine. I have very little reason to believe additional AHL time "harms" development.
But the reality is that he's getting to the age where you start questioning if he can make the leap. That isn't this year, but he isn't a 20 year old prospect. There is a reason that the Athletic caps their prospect analysis at 23. Although, I think Wheeler caps his goalie prospect analysis at 25 to the point everyone is making.
young does not equal prospect.
