Tuch is a better player, well I can at least see him being of more interest to playoff teams as a likely better playoff performer

He's a better player but Buffalo would want a more specific return for him that I'm not sure many teams can offer.

I think the Penguins would take any collection of futures package for Rakell, but I think Buffalo holds onto Tuch unless they're getting a young top-4 RD or a top-9 center as the centerpiece of the package.

Yeah Buffalo has been pretty clear they want roster, NHL players. I don't see them being willing to do a Moore+1st like return because that doesn't help them. If you're a contender who wants Tuch, you likely need those assets for the playoffs. You want to add, not switch.

The only things I can really see is a 1:1 like a Mittelstadt for Byram like trade with Tuch. Maybe a small addition on either side. So I just don't see what Tampa offers that makes Buffalo pull the trigger.

your post was ADHDing out about X Y Z prospects with no real point. I had to say the same thing twice. Sorry if I can be blunt.
You were the one that named the specific prospects say that we have to put guys around them. I said I think they are currently gathering a good group of guys that could fit that role. You made a vague reply and I said that the extent to which you add should be based on the quality of the player you get in the draft.

You didn't say the same thing twice. The replies suggest you didn't read what I said at all.

We do anything yet?

"For me, I don't ever want to put a timeline on anything because our goal is based on the types of people that we have in the locker room and how much they've meant to the city and the franchise," Dubas said Saturday. "We want to operate as urgently as we can to return the team there. We don't want to buy patience or say, 'It's in X amount of years, (the) plan in Year X, we hope to be at different points.'"

Nothing since Petterson and Doc trade, but plenty of rumors that Rakell is a potential deadline deal. Yohe also said Grzy, Beau, and Acciari are highly likely to be traded, but no one expects much for them so who cares? EK65 is out there, but more likely to move in the summer.

I'd still call it a fine deadline if they just move out Grzelcyk, Beauvillier and Acciari. That's mostly driven by getting out of Acciari's contract, though.

Selling high on Rakell would be the minimum requirement for a "good" deadline and managing to get out of another bad deal would add bonus points. But if it's just Grzelcyk, Beauvillier and Acciari out, it's whatever. If it's only Grzelcyk and Beauvillier (or less), firmly a bad deadline by Dubas.

Shorter version: "We have no plan. Please keep buying tickets."

Get off the mat, CLC, Mickey loves ya!
Go in circles with internet strangers over grown men playing a game OR man up and admit I am illiterate and can’t read?

I'm hoping Lou stays delusional about the state of the Isles and ends up keeping Nelson/Palmeiri. That immediately removes the top UFA F on the market. Would make a lot of teams scramble last minute

We're debating the merits of trading a 32 year old having a career year and having a shooting % at like 1.5x his career average.

But someone might give the Pens a 4th for Grzelcyk. Maybe.

Just because we won't move a 32 year old with 3 years left on his contract at peak value doesn't mean we aren't rebuilding.
