I honestly wonder what the hell Dubas is going to do about the goaltending next year. Dubas hates buyouts and Jarry is untradeable. Ned also really stinks and has another year on his contract. It's kind of a disaster.

Jarry is particularly problematic because his presence in WBS is blocking Sergei Mursahov from taking one of those two goalie slots and Murashov is more than ready to be in the AHL. Hell that kid might be knocking on the NHL doors before too long.

There's really no excuse to be going into next year with either Ned or Jarry still on the roster or even in the organization for that matter. I get that the Pens are still going to be rebuilding next year but it's not good for anyone here to have them in net lol. Well it's good for our tanking status I guess.

Status quo…we need to draft McKenna…anything else next season would be a travesty and set the Pens back…do NOT improve the goaltending lol!

That Jones trade pretty much guarantees that you could get a 2026 1st for Karlsson if you retain him down to $7 million. Get on the phone with Dallas and try to figure something out.

Pens are sellers but the biggest moves are in the off season. Rakell unless Dubas is blown away will keep RR with a contract that is growing in value in a rising cap. I still think Karlsson will be moved at the draft and dubas is now in the young prospect return vs picks only. Hayes, Heinen, the LD who is playing better are all available for teams wanting depth for a run.

I think you strike while the iron is hot on Rakell. There are lots of good forwards that are pending UFAs, but they are on playoff teams. I think the market for Rakell gets weaker not stronger after the deadline.

Karlsson is where I think the offseason cap flexibility and very limited UFA market might increase the number of bidders.

I think even a 3rd for Grzelcyk or Beauvillier is probably optimistic. Nyquist was a point-per-game player last year so there is some chance he reverts back to that or at least finds a middle ground. Beauvillier and Grzelcyk are what they are currently, depth guys.

With these depth guys the valuations can be kind of random. I agree that the Pens depth guys should be worth less than Nyquist but a nothing depth guy like Ruh also got a 4th. A 3rd for middle pair guy like Grz seems pretty fair

Beauvillier yes, but I don't agree with Grzelcyk. If Lindgren is bringing back a 2nd I think the minimum for Grzelcyk should be a 3rd. Lindgren's physicality raises his value from Grzelcyk but that's really the only major difference between them, both are bottom pair guys who are capable of eating minutes in the top-4 if needed.

I think it's more he doesn't want to go to like Winnipeg or something, but would be happy to go to Dallas or Carolina for example.
