It's silly to get upset about the Penguins not trading Grzelcyk and Beauvillier yet when the deadline isn't for another week.
I think we'll see something happening on Monday, but definitely Wednesday and Thursday, since we don't play on any of those games.
I'm not going to argue that Lindgren isn't bad, but I think people have become a bit too analytics obsessed with ignoring the context of those analytics. Lindgren is likely playing in way too high of a role on a complete dumpster fire of a team. Going from being the DFD partner for Fox on a team with terrible analytics (even before this year, the Rangers were a bad team analytically that was just bailed out by Shesterkin) to a 3rd pair role that will sub into the top-4 in case of an injury should really help him.

The Avs won a cup with JJ as their regular 3rd pair LD. I don't see Lindgren as worse than that.
Lindgren has 'grit'. Teams pay for grit, for the playoffs.

I think you could get a 3rd for Beauviller after this trade. Nyquist has 9 goals and 21 points to Beauvillier’s 12 goals and 19 points.

Crazy value that the Preds got. Not a lot of confirmed sellers at this point though.

Pretty solid trade for both. Jones at 7mil is solid.
well that was quick

I’m going to be royally pissed if Dubas doesn’t at least trade 2-3 vets off this team lol
So far it's been a seller market. I think he moves at least two vets by Friday's deadeline.
De St. Phalle, Calvert and Klassen are now playing in WBS and were in Wheeling sao hopefully two players from WBS (NOT Nieto) will be in Pittsburgh after the deadline.

Pretty decent deal for Seth Jones honestly considering they get out of the deal. 25% is an ouch but he wasn't helping them. They get Knight too who should solidify their goalie position for awhile.

Starts to limit the EK destinations. Dallas makes sense but their GM recently poo-poo'd the idea.

That deal is fine if you are dealing a Seth Jones. It would be hot garbage if you are trading Erik Karlsson.

I want a lot more than that or else EK65 should stay right where he is. Then we look for a new partner for him for next season.

Meanwhile, Matt Grzelcyk plays the right side as well as the left side.

I love the Jones deal. Takes an option away from Dallas and establishes a high return. And before anyone says “there are also fewer teams in the mix for Karlsson” - so what? The Pens don’t have to trade him right now. Dallas is the team with the time crunch, not the Pens.
I feel it makes are position better.

Who else you getting Dallas

Where's this top 4 RD.

Very few options. Savard is out there. I guess.

Dubas is going to wait until everyone who wants players in particular positions have already traded for them and no one is interested in our junk lol
While funny, I would bet the guys Dubas wants to trade are "Plan B" for a lot of teams. So if he doesn't trade someone like Beauvillier, I would imagine it's because the two or maybe three teams "interested" made other trades.

Colorado getting Lindgren makes me wonder who else might be left for Gryz. I think Beauvillier might still be picked up even as a mere depth piece. For some reason, I lean Tampa picking him up. Something like Atkinson+2025 4th.

Some random thoughts on minor trades:
Beauvillier to Tampa for Atkinson+4th
Gryz to NJD for Bastian+3rd
Beauvillier to LA for 2026 3rd
Gryz+Neds to Edmonton for Pickard+2025 STL 2nd
