I don't live in Pittsburgh, so I've never listened to Madden's show, and I only occasionally pay attention to his articles. What is this clown's deal with the 101st-best player of all time?

If a player doesnt do his show or talk to him after games, he has no problem finding any reason to trash them. Sid, Ben, Mario all can do no wrong. Staal used to do his show, so back in like 2014 his schtick was Staal should have stayed as 2C, and Malkin should have been moved for depth help. Then after they didnt 3peat, Malkin should have been traded for Barkov+1st. Then when he signed this last contract, they should have let him walk and signed Trocheck.

As it should be at this point. Imagine if they fire him now and they get a new coach who turns things around just enough to have them miss the playoffs by a few points. Nightmare scenario

Yes I’m aware my tune has changed on what not firing Sullivan signals
Hardly a nightmare scenario if this team actually starts playing to their potential. Remember, we still have to watch this team, and some of you are actually paying very good money to see them. I am boycotting the Montreal games until Sullivan is gone, but many of you are not.

Chances are, IF Sullivan were to be let go, there would be 3-4 call-ups from the AHL instantly, and Dubas could be freed to make the types of trades he wants to make. He probably hesitates at the moment for good reason. Here are some (not ALL obviously) Dubas transactions and where we stand with them:

- Jarry re-signing (currently in the AHL after being waived through the league).
- Graves signing (currently the No. 6 D, has been mainly the No. 7 D with an occasional No. 8 D slot).
- Tomasino acquisition (started on line 2; mainly been playing on line 3, tonight he could be a healthy scratch).
- Glass acquisition (has sucked pretty much everywhere we have tried him, but one thing we know for sure...he is a terrible RW and he cannot score to save himself).
- Hayes acquisition (was a healthy scratch a ton when we were doing reasonably well; now that we suck, he is our second-line center. Not a coincidence, but to be fair he has played much better than many of his teammates).
- P.O. Joseph re-acquisition (started off playing well next to Letang, just like last season. AND just like last season, Sullivan tinkered and moved him off that pairing. Now, he proved he cannot play the right side so he is our latest No. 7 defenseman).

I know that if I were the GM of this team, I would be rather gun-shy about making moves that involve NHL players for the reasons given above.

The goal should be to get a top 4 pick this summer to get one of those top tier guys.

Trade at the TDL:
Pets
Gryz
Ned
DOC
Beau
Nieto (waivers)

Tack back some bad contracts w/ picks like Hayes (Saad).
Bring up some kids and TJ.

Get a goalie in the off-season and maybe go FA hunting.
Fire Sully.

Do it all again next year!
Lol

Madden has been trying to run Malkin out of Pittsburgh for nearly a decade.
