His two best evs points per 60 came with Boston anyways. The only reason his numbers are up so much is because he gets 3min more a game and number 1 PP time. He has 37 career PP points. He has 10 with the penguins.

I mean, I’ve watched Fiala and Rakell. If you think they are comparable players that’s on you, but IMO Fiala on L2 can drive it without Malkin. He’s an incredibly talent even if he has had huge struggles in the playoffs.

He adds value now and if he pots a few 70-80 pt seasons we probably get a 1st for him.

Rakell is never returning a 1st IMO.

Rakell might return a first with the Pens going hard on retention but I doubt that the Pens are willing to do that. With low/minimal retention he probably only brings back the equivalent of a 2nd which is such a mid return that I'd probably rather keep him tbh.

Which is why I’d rather deal him for a younger player, with higher upside that already returned Granlund and Faber + 1st.

You’re not getting that first for 3 more years if it works out.

And if he doesn’t we pay to move him or live with him until his contract is up. (Which I’m not inherently against)

Point is I think Rakell has more value than you do. I’d rather try to get a 2nd plus good prospect for Rakell and try to get someone younger than Fiala. Or better like Marner in FA

Puckpedia Pens' page also says Rak signed through '27-'28 season.

Yeah it'll be interesting to see what JT Miller lands the Canucks. Absolutely the right move to trade him and not EP40, even though EP40 doesn't have trade protection.

The idea that all the PK has to be in the bottom six and cant be good players is a sullivan thing that is soooooo stupid.

I don't completely hate the idea. My big issue with it would be what @Ulf5 pointed out earlier which is if your idea is to get him to play him with Malkin well....we know that Sullivan would put Fiala directly with Sid first unless Sid completely hates playing with him.

So you're still in a situation where you need to get Malkin a winger unless you also acquire someone to put on the top line with Sid so that Sullivan doesn't get the urge to shaft Geno again.

Rag fans think it was Lafreniere or Chytl plus Sykora and Chmelar.
But Friedman supposedly said the deal is off.
Friedman also stated teams have now been given permission to speak to JT Miller. Which would seem to indicate another team or two becoming involved and maybe Vancouver changing their minds on the Rangers' offer?

We need to start making some player trades…we’re 8th drafting right now based on points percentage .. we need to get into the top 5 lol bc it’s clear we suck and aren’t going to be anywhere near the playoffs…
Petts is getting no better than a 2nd so start the trade process already …he’s sucking…NJ wants defense…he’d help them…trade for Nemec or a 2nd
Rakell should be gone…with cap going up, his deal looks good and cost controlled the next few seasons…I bet we could get a first for him if we take back a cap dump..
Dubas sucks, our players suck and the coach sucks most of all lol…there’s nothing positive about this organization except for some potential players in Wilkes (FSG sucks most of all too)…feel bad for Sid and G but I feel worse for them putting up with this schlock

Rumor is teams are not making trades because they want to see what happens after 4 nations (i.e. some star gets hurt and a team needs to replace him)

I do think Petts is gonna be dealt, which is good. I think it'd be really smart of this team to try and find a landing spot for either Rakell or Bunting while they have a bit of value this season too. No reason to hang on to them.
 
Rakell is too good to move for a 2nd. I have posted Dubas will move players this off season with the exception of Petts if he gets a offer that he likes. Rust without NMC is moved. Karlsson even with NMC will be move with some retention for a higher return. Pens will be in top 10 at the draft it looks like and with lottery luck move up. Picks from Rust, Karlsson possibly Petts is the continuation of the retool.
