No other GM was gonna win rounds with this team the last 2 years. I was never under any illusions about that. People here are mostly projecting their frustration with the state of the organization onto Dubas. Plus many didn't like him to begin with, and no moves he woulda made woulda changed that. The stubbornness on this board is next level. People hold to narratives for like a decade, come Hell or high water.
My take is that his trades have been largely good. Maybe a B+.
The signings maybe a C or C+. A few terrible ones in there for sure, but those aren't the only ones on the list. I'm rather happy with the drafting so far, although that's hard to assess at this early juncture.
I don't like that they're fence-sitting as an organization, but that's on ownership, not KD. That's a mandate, and existed before he got here. "Build for the future while staying competitive". Good luck
I'm more interested with how he conducts the rebuild than what things he does to move them from 13th in the East to 9th or w/e. The results for the rest of this season don't matter. It's pleasant to see them win, and I'm programmed to enjoy that after watching the team for 32 years. But I know it's not the best thing for the team long-term. They should be drafting higher, and selling Rakell, Petts, Bunting etc...
