lol…Jarry in net…and wtf? Pickering on his off side and Hayes back in as 3C and no offense Glass on L2 again…Sullivan must want to lose to the Panthers tonight

A Grz-EK pairing is gonna be f***ing hilarious tbh.

Imagine showing people that defensive lineup in September...

Pettersson needs to pick up his game so we can get a half way decent pick for him.

Same with DOC. Hopefully he can build off last game.

When I look at that lineup it’s hard to think we’re not tanking.

I hope everyone remembers pathetic lineups like this when the narrative flips in a few years to "lol the Penguins sucked because the core was old and burned out and that's that" but they won't.

Minor league move. Defensive reinforcements coming to WBS.

Second part hasn't been shared by the Pens yet, but Jagger Joshua is also on his way out for future considerations. Also a minor league move.

And that's because WBS announced it. Forgot Joshua is on an AHL deal.

Hayes in for Beau

I'd rather dress 9 defense and 9 forwards, imagine the pk and responsible defensive awareness levels this team could ascend to with that set up!!!!!!

Two ECHL guys for a 3rd pairing/HS AHL dman. Not the worst.

Joshua was actually pretty decent for WBS last year, but yeah they desperately need some help on defense.

What's good is that Poolman is also not an AHL veteran based on the amount of games he has played, so they don't have to worry about scratching another veteran to get him in. Only at 213 professional games when the cutoff is 260.

Then pair him with someone who doesn't have the IQ of a traffic cone. As long as Pickering has to play RD then make him and Petts a combo. Graves-POJ can provide 10 minutes of comic relief.

That's too bad... despite him almost certainly not panning out into much I kinda liked JJ. He had some nice "pest that can score" moments this past preseason.

Yeah he was just caught in a numbers game and WBS desperately needed defensemen. WBS is so deep at forward that they have numerous should-be AHL forwards playing for Wheeling, which is a big reason why Wheeling is kicking the shit out of the ECHL this year.

Wheeling who are currently playing with 11F and a center on D watching 2 guys get traded:View attachment 955581

I thought WB/S needed reinforcements at forward?

...

:D

Didn't they make in the chipper when we won the Cup? They lost but I remember there being talk about how cool a ECHL-AHL-NHL sweep would be.

Yeah 15-16. They lost 4-2 to the Allen Americans.

I always thought of the Thunderbird years as their "golden" years, though.

I think that was prior to when they became affiliated with the Penguins.

15-16 they made it to the finals. Every seat in the place was sold. Probably the only time thats happened at Wesbanco since Guns N Roses played there.

It was, the Chiefs were our ECHL affiliate. I was lucky to see Peter Skudra there a few times.

Or when Marilyn Manson came to town when I was in HS. I can still recall the controversy lol

I got to watch Vokoun a few times back in 96 or whenever that was which was pretty cool.

I make fun of the area but I'm allowed as I grew up there and still reside just across the river.

I give the city credit, they at least try to improve it. That little stretch downtown is starting to come together.

Honestly it really is... first time I can say that with any sincerity since... well... the entire time I've been in this region lol

Of course that hasn't stopped people from complaining incessantly about the resulting traffic etc. But a quick look around downtown now versus 10-15 years ago reveals a very obvious and stark contrast. The last few events I've been to downtown were actually well-attended by people under the age of 50. Which would have been unheard of not that long ago.

The waterfront is actually shaping up to be a nice spot.

Since it's been brought up a few times -- WBS has lots of forward depth, but much of it is bottom six caliber players. A lot of it is injured, too. If Puljujarvi were to go down, he'd give WBS a top six capable player.

Despite having the second best power play in the AHL, WBS has just 87 goals in 27 games. That's tied for 21st in the AHL.

They need scoring help.

Well... they play tonight. When's that supposed to happen? Shouldn't he already be there if that's the plan? Unless I'm mistaken it sounds like he's just munching nachos in the pressbox.

I don't think the Pens forwards are completely healthy. They might be guarding against injury on their current road trip.

It could also be cap reasons.

Or maybe something else in the works.

And maybe they never intended to send him down, but they passed him through waivers just to see if someone would take him. Since no one did, perhaps it's a message sent.

Didn't the coach say he wanted him to get playing time and "be fair to the player?"

And unfortunately for all of us not too far off the mark.

But I'm sure glad we got that 3rd rounder or whatever so I get to watch this guy derp around on L2 much of this miserable season.
Not to nitpick, but Cody Glass has 9pts in 26 games. Tanner Glass had 15pts in 115 games with the Pens. Cody's mostly invisible and definitely AHL fodder, Tanner was baaaaad. Then you've got Harkins.

Well he can PK so that's all that really matters.

I'm sure he's gonna look whiz bang like he has been on L2, tonight. That line is like watching the concept of depression take form and strap on skates.
