I guess it depends on who the TBD's are, doesn't it? And I don't believe Marchand will be back. How about they get a #1C in the draft that can step into the NHL right away, and sign at least one high quality top 6 wing? With an intact D corps and even a modest Swayman rebound they are probably nowhere near the lottery.

I really hope Desnoyers/McQueen could skate in Boston next year next to Pasta, with management/coaches just embracing the growing pains. Obviously Misa is better suited. Hagens needs time. Would make things a lot easier/cheaper if we could push one of many middle 6 centers to wing with that pick slotting in asap.

They're really not ready to jump in. It's Schaefer, Misa, and maybe Frondell. Everyone else needs at least a year. Not saying someone wouldn't rush Martone or something, but most players even at the top need a year. Desnoyers/McQueen really wouldn't be ready to play top six in the NHL whatsoever.
This is why I am all aboard the tank train, even though it pains me deeply to want them to lose. It feels so weird, but these kinds of opportunites come around in Bruins land once a generation.

I was busting chops more than anything and I dont believe Marchy will be back either and I wouldn't want him at his asking price considering the current state of the Bruins.
Love Marchy and he'll always be a Bruin, but I'd just as soon spend his cap hit somewhere else preferably on a younger player, unless Marchand comes way down on his demands.
Intact d-crops is a tough ask right now. No one knows how lindholm going to bounce back and is Charlie going to have lingering shoulder problems. I hope their both back and playing top notch, but its not a slam dunk. I like to be optimistic as anyone but have just a little bit of realism as well, and alot needs to happen in a postive way for the bruins to be a playoff team next year imo.
In my optimistic world I'd like to see the Bruins win the lottery, draft Misa then sign Marner in free-agency, and Charlie and Hamphus come back completely healthy, Swayman not to play like dogshit. Minten is on the all rookie team with Misa who also wins rookie of the year and the Bruins win the Cup. In the real world not to sure any of it will happen.

Would love it if they didn’t, and it’s debatable considering they have little cap space and 9 names from this year without a contract going into next year. Miller is the most likely RFA they move on from, but Cuylle produced enough to potentially make it difficult on them.
Duran is signed next year unlike many names in PVD at the moment , better suited for 4th line than someone like Lysell, and while I’d like to see him get some mins, he’s more of a fill here. Wouldn’t read into that much…

“Wish” was probably the more accurate wording there, but I do hope! Wouldn’t that be a pleasant surprise at camp. Frondell looks pretty good now and is playing against men not boys like Desn/McQueen, but I always wonder about the player transitioning to a smaller rink ya know? Might take him a minute to adjust.

. I'd rather be that way than one who complains all the time and expects disaster and hates all our players etc.

Thankfully those types aren't on here.
Yeah, maybe Misa makes it right away, but still wouldn't bet on him coming in and being number 1 center right away. Hagens might make it right away, but almost certainly in a lesser role, but may be better off doing another year in college. Frondell might be able to contribute, but more likely as a 3rd line winger not a top center, and do you want to do that?

I don't think he is gonna get absurd money: he is a RFA, so very likely arbitration.

I think the Bruins should keep 3 of Zacha, Geekie, E. Lindholm, and Mittelstadt.

Barbashev and Iafallo feel like comps the agent maybe brings up despite the age difference. Barbashev money could make sense in the end with rising cap, but I hope it’s less and arb maybe helps that hope become a reality. Donato staying under 4mil would be really helpful on our end.

They won’t be able to move Mittelstadt or Lindholm so in your scenario I’m hoping all four stay or Geekie would be the odd man out.
