Don't give them that McAvoy is better stuff because he is not Nine million bucks and cant run a powerplay .All around gets him where he is right now which is hurt again.

I think Chara first ballot HOF, and will go there without having really been a PP QB. Just saying. He had a few good years with his bomb back when teams used that more.

Adding Marner (13), one solid middle 6 winger of Roslovic/Hall/ Cuylle (3-4), and signing Geekie (5) puts your team in a good position, and sounds sweet on paper. But with cheap contracts in Minten and Duran on the 4th, it only leaves 6mil for Lohrei, Joki, and your 13thF/7D. I don’t even know if 13mil gets it done for Marner…but if it did, I’m not sure they can bring in one of the above mentioned mid6 wingers and likely fill that spot it with someone cheap like Khus, Poitras or Lysell to provide future cap flexibility at wing. They could also try to move small money out (Korpi, Peeke) to help the temporary cap situation.

I will physically remove one of my nads if they give Marner a max deal. Tell you that much.

That's how confident I am that that's not happening. The projections are he'll become the highest paid player in the league (for now). If you think we're doing that, I dunno. We live in different realities.

Put another way, they'd have to pay him WAY more than Pasta. Not gonna happen.

I said I don’t think 13 is enough. Was more so making the case that it’s not likely and what the trickle effect would be to begin to enter the ballpark of the offers he’s going to receive. But go ahead guy, bet your sack on it or whatever lol.

High end skilled 22 years old young gun in the nhl with 2x50 plus points season, a futur 30 goals scorer who want to quit Buffalo, maybe Boston could be attractive for him, a first and a 3rd pick it's far from bad to maybe get him from an offersheet at 6.8mil...
We only do that for over-the-hill guys who want 7 year contracts.

Stars only have 5.3mil in Cap space going into next year with 8 forwards and 6 D signed at the NHL level. Mavrik Bourque C/RW (RFA) and Nils Lundquist D (RFA) could be offer sheet/trade rights casualties. Marchment and Dumba could be cap dump opportunities. All eyes on Duchene hitting the market considering the player spots they still need to fill, and pay Jamie Benn and replace/sign Granlund. Would be impressive to see them nail the gymnastics to retain all of these mentioned names somehow (minus Granlund).

Duchene would be an excellent Bruin and smart roster addition, given scoring ability, veteran presence, and low term contract expectation. Wouldn’t be surprised if they find a way to make him stay, wouldn’t be surprised to see him hit FA. Lundquist could be a sneaky low cost addition to the D Corps, and he’s only 24. Bourque would be a solid 3rd liner. Marchment would be good in the middle six.

Agree they should be look at Dallas. Duchene ain’t leaving cowboy hat country.

Seeing some people mention JJ Peterka but why the heck would Buffalo move him?

Unless he specifically asked out because Buffalo is Buffalo but other than that, it makes no sense.

Jack Quinn I could definitely see. Benched throughout the year, injured here and there, disciplined for missing a team meeting.

Might be more realistic unless I’m missing something?

Least Chrychun can put up some goals and run a poweplay.Rather be paying him the 9 then McAvoy anyday
They bring different elements. McAvoy is really good defensively and crushes ppl.

I’m a huge fan of chychurn. I wanted him on the bruins badly for a long time. But I’d like them both. Mcavoy is grossly underrated by this fanbase now that the bruins are bad.

Because Marner will be signed for more than what Pasta is making.
Marner actually does deserve a massive pay check. He does everything well and has elite playmaking. He is small so he isn’t violent but his two way game is under valued. He also would fill in a giant gaping special teams hole this team has. He kills penalties really well and is a weapon on the power play.

It would have been a nice situation to have both.

Hmm, okay- the captaincy would make Pasta feel better about getting less money than a player who he is at least as good as? That's an interesting take- I don't know how much these guys care about that when it's not contract time but maybe.

I have not been a big fan of Marners, but as you pointed out his skill level, he is a must add at this time, or you are wasting Pasta's prime years. I feel if you keep Zacka, Geekie and Pasta together, you have one clear line, add Marner with Mittlestadt, and add another wing on the opposite side of Marner, that would give you two solid lines, I am still hedging my bet on Mittlestadt, but I am not against him. that top six could be interchangeable. Sweeney does not do a bad job with filling out his bottom six, unfortunately, he filled out the roster with them. The health of the D is going to be so important.

I understand and agree with pretty much what you are saying, but Pasta has really tried to do his part this and step up in a tough situation, and just maybe it would be a way of recognizing is effort. I might be reading into much but who knows.
