Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XX

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Could somebody teach Lohrei how to deal in the defence? This guy is a disaster in the own end. Sure he can move the puck and be a above average PP QB, but not skilled enough to do what d-man should do. Minus freaking 30.....Team sucks, but still not like Blackhawks sucks.

Also waive those so called prospects. Beecher, Lysell, Khusnutdinov, Merkulov etc. You got lottery tickets, with no win this time.

This team starts to remind worst of Claude Julien era, where the whole team was just full of third or fourth liners.

Don't lump Khusnutdinov in with Beecher and Merkulov -- much, much better player.

Lysell, I'm not banking on him being a top 9 guy for the next decade, but I'd like to see him play more than 2 games at the NHL level before fully writing him off.

There is no way we contend in 2026 so why not play the kids the whole season, acquire more draft picks and keep our salary cap at a minimum for the year. We won’t win the cup by putting a bandaid on it next year anyways.

I would also trade Swayman. He’s a puzzy.

McKenna would solve everything for the next decade +

Jacobs is fine with spending, he knows he needs to put the team in the playoff hunt next year if they want to sell out and sell beer.

I think the only people who don't want to spend money are the burn it to the ground and tank folks
I just hate that kind of talk.

Any interest in Ekblad for the 2nd pair next year? He's slow and somewhat injury prone but is still smart (sometimes) and positionally sound with a good outlet pass. Could be a good partner for Lohrei or Lindholm.

Are you giving him a 7-year deal at about 8 million per year? I would wager that is somewhere in the range of what it would take.

Dump a bunch of players with no compensation at the end of the season! I can’t for the life of me understand why Sweeeeenius hasn’t thought of this. Probably wants to be seen as the smartest guy in the room smh.

With the Bruins currently slotted at the 8th overall they might have a shot at Roger McQueen if the lottery gods don’t cut them a break. I think there’s a good chance McQueen slips down to that 8-11 range. His injuries the past 2 years may scare a few teams off. Kid is large at 6’5” and tons of skill. Skating needs some work.

Maybe that would be a very brave pick. He is also one of the oldest players in the draft, only missing last years by a couple of weeks

I’m sure that pick would be well received here - a risky pick with big upside. Guess it depends on where he is listed on the official draft rankings sheet Sweeney should use (existence of which still unclear).

You said it " kids skating needs work".....I do not want to take any player in the top 10 that is not an NHL skater and has skill.
Skating is probably the most important criteria when evaluating talent.
We need skilled/fast forwards.
