Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XX

They are going after it

Top 6 gets them one of
Anton Frondell
Caleb Desnoyers

Gotta keep playing AAAA guys ~ I know Donny did McLaughlin a solid trading him to Jersey but damn it Sweens we could use him these last 15 games
We would need to lose 4 more games than Seattle to make it to #6 based on current situation. Sabres are the wild card in that range at the moment because they’ve only played 66 games

Philly having 6 picks in the first 2 rounds is absurd

Hopefully Keith Gretzky isn't running their draft table.

Bruins need to pick some real offensive skill with their 1st round pick, not ANOTHER two-way center like Desnoyers.

a versatile do everything well player. i remember when he went to the whl and then back to the nhl. hated that habs team. hated.
Haha, me as well

I was 10 when they drafted him 1 OA and I just like saying his name ~ they really were the flying Frenchman

@Dr Hook was being very very mean landing on K’Nail Yakupov also a member of the 1 OA Club…..I didn’t want to do Brian Lawton but Houle would be kinda a bust if you look past 5 Stanley Cups and a fantastic bottom 6 member of the Habs

Bruins fans would take the 5 Cups but would crush Donny for who he passed on

Still Rejean Houle will always have a cool name

We got a shot at 5 or 6 we gotta strike

They are centers and high end

I’m officially rooting for the long term best interest of the Bruins

The Zadorov exploding stick last minute regulation loss is the GOAT of all tanks

The Bruins deserved better that night - but I’ll take the payoff draft night picking 5-8

J.J. Daigneault also goes into the “fun name to say” Hall of Fame.

Yea I’m just saying the math ain’t mathing too well to get to #6 even.

If all teams in current draft positions #1-6 suddenly go .500 or better the rest of the way AND Pittsburgh and Anaheim play like .650 hockey or better, we could only win a max of like 3 games in order for us to fall that low…

Just to reach #7, Pitt would need to go .500+ and we would need to lose 9 of the next 13, with Anaheim doing better than us.

You have to take a player who is available to you.

Does Frondell have more offensive skill than Desnoyers? Frondell is also considered a 2 way center. Is there anyone behind Desnoyers you see who you think is a dramatically better offensive prospect? carter bear has even better numbers, but is considered more of a 2 way C than Desnoyers is

My impression is that there's a plateau at 1-4 (Schaefer, Misa, Hagens, Martone), then one at 4-8 (Desnoyers, Frondell, Eklund, Smith), then 1 or 2 guys with issues (McQueen), and 1 or 2 guys in between (O'Brien), then a hard drop off. I don't think they get into the top 4 unless they win the lottery. Top 8 still gets them a good player. 9-10-11 is a maybe and beyond that would suck. They need to put some regulation L's on the board in this road trip, and hopefully in Anaheim.

I think it’s important for folks to note that if they finished 9th they are more likely to get moved down from someone else winning the lottery than moving up. You really want to get to 7. My super in depth watching 5 minutes of YouTube highlights scouting would be OK if it was O’Brien on the end, though.

Really hoping they go trade route to jump start this retool instead of throwing stupid money around in FA. Scouring teams that might be in a position to sell with a player that fits a need: would Seattle move on from Beniers this early? Local kid, solid 200 foot game. Key is unlocking some offense and getting him to a 60-70 point player. Would Seattle sell low to get out from the contract? Should Boston be interested? Just throwing an out of the box name that I haven’t seen discussed yet to get your opinions
