For another $750K the Bruins have Lindholm.Very expensive re-signing of Olivier ($3m) and Greenway ($4m).

I feel @FONZIE 's pain, We spend a small fortune seeing them in Dallas this year and it was a shambles. We had planned to make the trip to Raleigh this week to visit my brother and catch the Bruins while they were in town, but decided against it given how crappy the team has been playing.
I think they have like 6 slots availableI’d rather they exhaust what they have in the system than bring in another waiver claim and keep the contract slot open for a College FA.
Coyle would most certainly pull a good package but I won’t be disappointed if he’s still on the team. The bruins can trade him in the summer and or next trade deadline. All I know is if Charlie Coyle is still on the team after the deadline then I'll be massively disappointed. At least with Carlo you know he has a role on this team but Coyle isn't even playing center anymore and he isn't good enough to be in the top six. He doesn't fit like he used to.
With so many teams looking for center help and it appearing like a sellers market, move Coyle.
I think you could pull a decent package from the Devils with maybe some retention.
Don its for 2 years and they have to over pay somewhat just to get them to stay. Its BuffaloGreenway at 4 million makes lindholm contract feel like peanuts.![]()
If the Bruins weren't so weak at LD this season, I wouldn't have been shocked if Lohrei got sent down when he hit rough patches.
Decent but vrana is more intriguing I think he can pop some points on the side with pasta.
Lohrei needed to clear waivers once they got to early-mid December, he wasn't going anywhere after that, regardless of their situation on LD.
Korpisalo seems more like an offseason move - not sure how many playoff teams are looking for a backup goaltender or would think he's better than their starter.I really want Coyle gone. On a contender, he's a 3C and we have cheaper options who can slot in there.
I want us to have the space to land 2 of the likes of Rantanen, Bennett, Byfield, Zegras, etc
I want us to sign a guy like Pionk as well.
Korp just doesn't impress me, actually scares me so if we can unload him, bonus.
Hell not to many will think hes better than their back-up, to actually make a move for him, where it would be an clear-cut upgradeKorpisalo seems more like an offseason move - not sure how many playoff teams are looking for a backup goaltender or would think he's better than their starter.
That's why you need to get second opinions before doing stuff like this.I blame Blades for the Bruins bad fortunes. I purchased this mug to start the season. F Blades.
I'd have no problem taking a look at Vrana. He was a guy I wanted them to sign in the off-season. I thought when Monty was here it would be a perfect spot for Vrana. Both he and Monty have battled demons. Monty could have been a big help to Vrana as he continues his journey after coming out of the program.
Sweeney would have known that and sent him down before he needed to clear waivers
I'm not very good at predicting trades or values, but I don't think Carolina considers that for a moment.Rantanen
Carlo
Marschand
Merkulov
1rst round pick

Don't get me wrong, there's value in the package. However, I think they get much stronger offers. Much.

I was talking about a full rebuild, and how it would look game after game, and pretty, you are right but you are talking a retool, which I would be ok with, but a complete rebuild.Nobody chooses that type of game. Sweeney didn't put this team together to suck on purpose. Follow the Washington model and rebuild. A year or two of shrewd careful moves and NOT signing any over the hill glue and they'll be fine. I expect though that for a couple years there will be some games like last night's whether we like it or not.
i have a work/client event tonight or i would have gone despite the team's challenges. haven't missed the b's here in a long time. canes are not playing great but would have continued to skate us outta the rink anyway. Welcome to the area, it's a fantastic place to live.I moved south of Raleigh last summer and was psyched the Bruins were set to play here twice in one season. I went to that last 8-2 blowout and I refuse to pay big money to see the Bruins get run over again.
You have consistently some of the best, modest takes on this boardTrade Coyle pick up Varna off waivers. You get a natural winger and Coyle will get you a good pick, prospect.
I have no problems with claiming Vrana for the remainder of the year. My problems come with what happens if Vrana say clicks with Pasta, and puts up numbers the remainder of the year? Would i consider bringing him back at the NHL minimum for 1 year, sure I would consider that. Would I be willing to go beyond that into real money or multi year, NEVER. And of course if you are on team tank, a hot Vrana could hurt that
Vrana is just not a reliable enough player to ever make any type of commitment to
