Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XVIII ( if trades occur use specific trade thread)

I moved south of Raleigh last summer and was psyched the Bruins were set to play here twice in one season. I went to that last 8-2 blowout and I refuse to pay big money to see the Bruins get run over again.

Fonz I wouldn't pay money to see it again either. Of all the blowouts this season, and their have been many, no team picked the Bruins apart like the Hurricanes. The got ahead early and never looked back really. Game was over in the 1st period. The way that team plays have given the Bruins fits for awhile.

I feel @FONZIE 's pain, We spend a small fortune seeing them in Dallas this year and it was a shambles. We had planned to make the trip to Raleigh this week to visit my brother and catch the Bruins while they were in town, but decided against it given how crappy the team has been playing.

Hes a Czech LW that can shoot and skate, do it and see how he fits with Zacha and Pasta. Just be ready for not much defense from him.
VRANA LW
Zacha C
Pasta RW

He’s also tough, a plus 6 this year and has averaged over .5 ppg

On pastas line he’s probably good for 60 points over 82 games

Ya, but we don’t want players like this…SMH

All I know is if Charlie Coyle is still on the team after the deadline then I'll be massively disappointed. At least with Carlo you know he has a role on this team but Coyle isn't even playing center anymore and he isn't good enough to be in the top six. He doesn't fit like he used to.

With so many teams looking for center help and it appearing like a sellers market, move Coyle.

I think you could pull a decent package from the Devils with maybe some retention.

Moving him solves many problems, and creates few.

I’d rather they exhaust what they have in the system than bring in another waiver claim and keep the contract slot open for a College FA.
Good point by you.

we are so greedy, we find a young low risk offensive player for free and we complain that he sucks defensivley, can’t win for losing around here.
You were expecting?

Christian Fischer was waived by Detroit. RS/RW with decent size at 6'2/212lb. Former 2nd rounder whose offense just didn't seem to translate in the NHL. Plays more of a shutdown/PK role now in the NHL, but I wouldn't mind giving him a look the rest of the season. His averages over the last 3 seasons puts him at 8G/21P over 82 games

Has some grit and is still a very good skater, would bring a lot more than Beecher

I'd rather see kids too, but Sweeney & Co. don't seem to quick to want to call up skilled young players. Think about it, they brought in Tyler Johnson vs keeping Lysell or Merkulov up. Then they claimed Whalstrom and gave him 16 games. Hell, even McMuffin has gotten 12 games this year

Even when Lysell & Merkulov Get a chance they're put in a depth role with limited minutes. Merkulov got a taste of the top 6 but only because there were so many injuries. Lysell got called up for 1 game and was put with Frederic & Brazeau. Frederic of course was traded, and Brazeau has either been scratched or played less than 10 minutes in 9 of his last 15 games.

If the team is selling, this is the perfect time to call up kids and put them in positions to play with skilled players. If they make mistakes, fine let them, that's how they'll learn. All these other teams seem to have no issue with their young players making mistakes. If the Bruins weren't so weak at LD this season, I wouldn't have been shocked if Lohrei got sent down when he hit rough patches.

Decent but vrana is more intriguing I think he can pop some points on the side with pasta.

Tough call on Vrana. Maybe he lights it up with Zacha and Pasta? He's fast and he can rip it. His per 82 offensive stats aren't bad at all ( 25/21/46 ). So why don't any of his teams want to keep this guy around? He needed help in his personal life and got it. Is he a misfit or lockeroom malcontent?

With the uncertainty around Marchand, Frederic traded, Geekie potentially being used as trade bait, and not a lot of left wing ready prospects ready to step into the NHL, it's not a bad gamble to take. But I worry he's going to wear out his welcome like he's done in all his other stops.

With Jack Hughes done for the year, the Bruins should be dangling Elias Lindholm or Charlie Coyle to them.

Main board seems to think the Kypreos rumor is bullshit. I'm leaning in that direction as well. It would be wild if it's true though.
Just think of what the return would have to be for Boston and Pittsburgh. It would be between combination of 2-4 draft pics/or players/prospects to each of Boston/Pittsburgh. Not sure if they have enough to trade for both.
