Could you possibly get smaller, and you want to add 2 third liners and a bottom 6 d-man, you got my juices flowing, I am so excited :sarcasm:
Perspective. I see that version of the Bruins approaching July 1st this summer with (3) 1st round picks, (2) 2nd round picks, and plenty of cap space to fill their top 6 holes. And a few young players who can make a push at camp to make the team.

Some of the names floated out as potentially being moved before next season? Cozens, Petterson, Zegras, Peterka, etc.. Free agents: Boeser, Rantanen.. And the unknown, the Eichels, Matthew Tkachuks etc who get traded without notice. It’d be nice for a change if a Brady Tkachuk level player requests a trade, the Bruins would have not only the assets to throw their hat in the ring but they’d have the cap space as well.

Evander Kanes full no protection clause vanished last night to partial and Oilers are trying to reach out to those teams to see if they can move him.He started skating feb 21 & if he comes back it will say bye bye to Oilers 5.1 million space .Its prob why they have not added another goalie etc yet.Would have put this in NHL thread but it's closed

Catch me up because I’m out of the loop here.

Is Kane done for the season?

If he’s going to be come back wouldn’t he have more value to the Oilers by playing than via trade?

(Unless of course he brings back a better player)

If this is where Bruins management is at with Geekie, then I say trade him.
Maybe their trying to. No clue of course, but by playing him with Pasta, it only ups his value and his contract negotiations, playing him away from Pasta hurts both, but then again if they still have hopes of making the playoffs and putting out at least a half way decent product on the ice they probably need to play him with Pasta. lol

No Bruins. No bueno.

This gives even more credence to why the Tfred for Neighbors trade is fictitious. The blues winners of 5 in a row,and chasing a playoff spot, are not going to break up one of the best 5 on 5 lines in the league. Maybe in a make-believe world, but in reality its not going to happen at least not for Tfred.

I suspect those in favour of trade Geekie are doing so with the assumption that what we’ve seen since being placed on Pastrnak’s line this season… isn’t likely sustainable.

Would fear a multi-year contract at $4M-$5M and would prefer to “sell high” with the idea that he returns to being a 15ish goal player for the duration of his career.

Unfair?

It's a fair contract for a guy that meshes well with the top star on the team and is making good on his chances.

I would feel more comfortable about his future output on a multi-year deal if he was more dynamic with how he scores rather than just grippin' it and rippin' it. He's a bit like Michael Ryder, who's shot you had to respect but didn't have much else in his offensive arsenal.

At the end of the day, he helps provide offense on a goal starved team and unless they can find a clear upgrade, Geekie is needed on the team.

If only there was a way to make the 2025 Bruins even more unlikable than they already are...

I’d be curious to see how many PP points Lohrei has versus how many shorthanded goals he’s been on the ice for.

Is probably not great…..but as with the rest of his game, with reps and experience, hopefully he makes the progress we all hope for.

They still need to sell seats
Trade them, all u have is pigeons in the rafters
Respectfully, I disagree. If you have a team of 3rd liners and Pasta and you have no real promise of going deep in the playoffs, attendance will drop anyways.
If you market a rebuild the correct way, you obviously will experience a drop but the difference won't be much.

The outlier is Pasta. He is such a dynamic player AND personality, its hard to let go of. And I don't blame the bruins for wanting to keep on with him.
Bah, they aren't going to rebuild anyway. So its a moot point from me.

Well the bruins have given up the most shorthanded goals in the league, but regardless, Lohrei is their best option as the PP QB moving forward and he's an incredible talent. Given his short tenure, on PP 1 I'd think Mac has been on for more, but I think it has to do more with the fact that the Bruins would keep trying to feed Pasta the Puck. Not a hard job for the Pkers when the whole world knows your trying to get the puck to Pasta as option 1,2 and 3.

Not so much now thou with Lohrei back there, he actually shoots the puck and moves it to other players not named Pasta.

This plan reminds me of Sinden’s pre-cap plan where he cleared the decks of anyone useful with the expectation the Bruins would be in a prime position to grab up all the newly available talent…

Zhamnov.

This collection of players hasn't worked out, but that doesn't mean they were wrong on the idea that they needed to be bigger to compete in the postseason

As long as Neely is sitting in the Presidents suite, I don't expect you are going to see the Bruins return t smurfs
Going to far in either direction is bad, I’d lean on the bigger side but that doesn’t mean every guy on the team should be a skyscraper. Bruins forgot that the size also needs to have skill.

Any first? Like 30th?
Yes sir
