He’s a guy I try to get signed. I just don’t see the Bruins getting fair value for him.

This. If someone offers something we can't refuse, obviously you snap that.

But I would much rather sign him.

He got his paycheck, terrific player, but he is owed nothing, the team and fans should be owed the best team that can be put out on that ice. This phony bullshit "he is owed" just does not cut it.

It's funny, because we want loyalty from them. We want them to stay in Boston. We want them to take discounts where possible. But I think this goes two ways. Marchy did everything we could have ever asked for him to do. If he wants to end his career here, he can. That's our captain!

Need to trade him is not more than a 3rd liner and this team need top 6 high scoring players and Geekie is not that, they need cap space to retool...but i can see Sweeny extend him at 5.5milx8!

I am glad you brought up the possible injury that Marchand might have received last night, if that is and I believe it is was caused by the shitty ice, the league and the PLA, Marty should be all over this, cut the expansion, tournament talks, this is as tough a game as you can play, and players should not be put at that type of risk, because of incompetent, so called leadership. That was a nasty spill Marchand took unnecessarily last night.

That third line last night was horrible, that is just unacceptable, putting out that line.

Geekie maybe should get a smidgen more, but basically I agree. Namestinkov is a speedy and useful bottom sixer with occasional finish. They had a similar but maybe slightly lesser player in J Boquvist, but let him go in Neely's continuing effort to eliminate speed in favor of glacially slow stiffs.

Come on man, he is 32, not comparable at all. Geekie will get minimum $4M.

Both can be true. But depending on what he wants from his next contract, which I’d imagine Sweeney already knows, and really is terrible at his job if not, a line must be drawn. For me, that number is probably 4.5mil, but lower when I see the offers roll in.

Remove Pasta, and we don’t have a single good top 6 line combo right now to match up against a great team. We desperately need some higher octane skill/scorers/playmakers/ whatever. You move Geekie, a bottom 6 player for any high chance contender out there, so you can start rebuilding your top. Whether that’s to score firsts you use to trade for those types, or scoring firsts that are higher than yours already (larger package needed obvs) to draft those types.

I’d rather the 2026-2027 Bruins have a league threatening top 6 and dumpster fire bottom 6, than whatever coasting mentalities are being thrown around.

You are so right take Pasta out of the equation and what do you have. Sweeney, has built this team with a lot bottom sixers, and some are not even good bottom sixers.

Well, yeah, I guess? Mac just went out though. I’m talking about the season as a whole for him.

Coyle has visibly not been the same player. He doesn’t win the one on ones he used to. He looks a full step behind on plays most nights. Completely out of sync regardless of who he’s playing with. A lot of missed passes on the breakout and a pretty quick in and out of the offensive zone. That’s his season in a nut shell.

Yes Geekie will get at least 4, probably even 4.5 and be overpaid at 4.5.

As far as comparing Namestinkov to j Boquvist goes,....I think it is a very good comparison. Agree to disagree.

Zadorov is making top 4 money. Lohrei, top 4 skill forsure next season, is trending as a future top pair once his defensive malaise is dust in the wind. We are not contending, we don’t need 5 top 4 defensive players right now…


Sell high. Improve the forward core. Pickup a FREE agent D this summer. Even if they cost more than Carlo, you need to maximize and make up for lack of drafting for the past 7 years ASAP.

I too would prefer Mikko. I also do not like Marners face, first name, attitude, or face (did I say that already?) that said, he has a lot of what we have been missing since Krecji/ Bergy were left passing to Brett Connolly.

Also, I really can not bring myself to harp on any player lapse in effort/ show of skill this tournament, as it’s mid season and some players would rather play at 70% now so they can ensure they aren’t injured for the post season (which we have already saw). I don’t think anybody “needed to sit it out” either if they knew they might not go full force. It’s a mid season, completely pointless, albeit frickin awesome, tournament.

I know that. The article said in the 35 to 50 range. In the Caps case, there is a big difference between the 50th pick and the 64th pick.

I agree. I think Edmonton, Tampa and Colorado are more likely landing spots if it were to happen anyway.

Part of me thinks a lot of these complementary players like Carlo or Freddy just aren't very good at the NHL level today and part of me thinks having jackasses like Chris Kelly, Joe Sacco, and Jay Leach coaching them is ruining their game. Sacco to a less degree, hes just vanilla but Kelly and Leach seem to be awful hockey minds when it comes to coaching.
