Im very happy with that return, even if he isn't the perfect player, think he fills a need a bit more than Coyle does now. My Avs fan friend FWIW said he hasn't been good

Getting rid of Coyle is a plus IMO. Not sure about Middlestat but it was time for a change and Coyle wasn’t fetching more than that based on his value and what’s available.

Not saying middlestadt will thrive here but atleast it's an attempt at getting younger and trying to squeeze some untapped potential out of someone.

Haula for Zacha type of deals is what retooling is all about. More hockey type trades, less trading for futures.
Exactly. Coyle was gone next year either way, doesn't hurt to get younger and get a guy with some offensive potential.

Sweeney has done quite well man.

Heads still spinning at what they got for the Brazeau trade and now he buys low on a talent in Middlestat, a prospect and a 2nd round pick

Freddy trade was more than expected as well

Indeed. But do not stop now. Take full advantage of the market and at minimum trade Marchand as well.

If not Carlo as well.

This can be a swift turnaround if Sweeney commits fully.
