I think boston will have some cap space. I think they should put some effort into signing chychrun. They need a defensemen that can run the power play. Mcavoy just isnt suited. lohrei seems like the perfect 2nd unit guy.

Chychrun is on a pace to set a career high in pp points, he has One more point than Lohrei does on the PP, despite being on a much better team

I don't really see a fit here with Chychrun moving forward? You'd be looking at around 28 million invested annually in 4 LHD .

Washington has the 11th best powerplay and boston is 29th. I dont think points are the best way to judge a PPQB. i think the overall PP efficiency is. I agree though, theyd likely have to move someone to the other side of the ice. Can’t zadorov do that?

A few months back I assumed no chance Koepke or Spoon would be resigned. Now I'm thinking one of Spoon or Mitchell has to be back, right?

Koepke I wonder. hmmmmm

I don't think the difference between the 2 is Chychrun vs lohrei.

Ultimately I believe Lohrei can be a legitimate #1 Unit PP guy. I think the unit has played better with him QBing it. I just cant see with all the gaps on offense the team deciding to go out and break open the bank to bring in chychrun, unless something happens like they trade lohrei for an offensive player.

If we could sign Chychrun to a reasonable contract, you could then trade Lindholm

Really coming off a significant injury and with a NMC in his contract, not to mention 5 years left on his deal. You absolutely would have to pay to get someone to take him at this point. Now 11 months from now, it is possible he has shown his health, and is a valuable piece again that returns value, but he is unmovable right now

Possible yeah, but teams are always looking for D and if he has a clean bill of health, there would be teams interested. People thought we would have to retain $ or add something to move Coyle, but look at the return we got for him.

Guys after they give Lohrei his new deal and you have Charlie/Zadarov/Lindholm/Peeke, your last guy is a 900K guy

The money is going up front. The D is actually VERY good as is. Just hurt.

And if Jokiharju plays lights out here beside Zaddy, I don't even see how we'd fit him

I mocked out a lineup where they sign Boeser or Ehlers for 8.5.

Give Geekie and Lohrei 4.0 each and, Khusnutdinov 1.75 and Lauko 1.25 and they have 7.0 left to spend on 1F and 1D.

If they think they can fill out the defense with someone in house or re-sign Wotherspoon, that should only use up 1.5-2.

Which means they can get a pretty decent forward using 3.5-4.5.

Or they can do the opposite and fill out the forwards with a Lysell, Beecher (No, God no!) and spend a bit on the defense.

Wow you need to get yourself a life if you went back and read all my posts. I’ve soured on the Bruins for sure, this rebuild was due last year. They’re not fun to watch. I’m a fan but I’m also not blind to see they’re not exactly exciting so I’m sorry I don’t have glowing things to say about them right now. But yes I’m a fan ever since 82-83 with Pete Peeters. Stayed. With them through all these years and cheered for them loud and proud in 2011 in a city infested with Canucks fans. A fan can be negative. A fan can complain. A fan can even grow tired of their team and need a break. You’re no more a fan than I am trust me. You’re just a guy who likes to pretend he’s a better fan than others and puffs out his chest behind a keyboard. So relax and get out and do something besides reading everyone’s posts to try to judge how big of a fan they are. Life is great so get out there and enjoy it tough guy.
Sorry for the delayed response. Was out all day with the family.

Cheers!
