So you absolutely didn’t want Lindholm and Zadorov, but you absolve Sweeney from criticism for making that mistake and signing them?

Who is absolving anything? There's a wide gap between criticism and screeching about firing him for the past decade. Way more people are in the latter camp.

I didn't like those contracts (I was vocal on here prior to it that I didn't want them signed). But I'm not knee jerking and calling for a firing over it. I'm very interested to see the path they take over the next six weeks.

If i understood Dom correctly. Chalrie/Hampus return will allow for player movement and possibly the addition of Lysell or Merk or both. Let's hope this happens today or tomorrow.

First issue is Miller has a full NMC and gets to decide where he would play. That point just keeps getting skipped over here.

Easier to just throw your hands up and blame Sweeney though.

Well, I think the players are responsible for coming into camp out of shape and not ready to play. They're responsible for mailing it in too often, like last night. From one season to the next, huge dropoffs for Marchand, Coyle, Carlo, Frederic, McAvoy aren't the GM's fault.

And I'm someone who absolutely did not want Lindholm or Zadorov to be signed. Unlike about 80% of this board.

If we are being honest the drop-off for Marchand (and Coyle) started around early Feb. last season.

Any GM should have enough sense to watch Frederic and realize you can't count on him to be a consistent producer. I'd like to see his splits but I'd wager when he's on his off-wing he's a better producer than LW or C. He never attacks the net from his natural side, only when he's carrying it down the right-wing.

I can't explain the drop-off in performance from Carlo or McAvoy. Coaching maybe. Is Jay Leach much of a coach?

Coming into camp out of shape though? In today's NHL? I'm not sure about that.
