I think they would. Center ice is a major need for the Bruins and Buffalo would come a calling with that offer, Imo I see Sweeney faxing that in before he hung up.
I don't see how a 7.1 mil center that has only one solid season, 1 pp goal this year, face off % under 50 , signed for 6 more years, easy pass at that cost. Connor Clifton at 3.3 mil, I did not like him at 1 mil...............

Yep. I could be way off here. He has had the one good year, but he’s still just 24. Hopefully he would follow the shoes of the Montours,Reinharts and McNabs once he got out of Buffalo, but I see your point.

Yeah this was a very good point made by Dom.

Obviously, Sweeney has been dealing with the Four Nations but where IS he? Neely stuff him in a closet?

Its been a lot of Neely and Jacobs and not a whole lot of Sweeney.
Geekie is solid, gives a consistent effort has a nice snapper, but he is a second to third line tweener. He is probably a third liner without Pasta.

If you can get a first, a known top sixer or an A prospect for him, you definitely move him.
The question is whether they could.

I have my doubts.

It's reasonable to project a top line that, comfortable with each other, will continue to produce going forward.

Personally, if the Geek or Zacha could fetch your return, of course I'd do it.

If not, don't fix what ain't broke and wait until the off season to upgrade that line.

Neely Leave :D From his lips to God's ears.
From Brad's hips to Charlie's ears.

What about Freddy for Jack McBain?

Utah is ‘on the prowl’ to improve their roster to make the playoffs.

They have just about the same amount of points this year but Freddy is more skilled and has scored more points the previous two seasons.

McBain has never passed 25 points and is right on par to do it again this year but is a RFA so Bruins could likely get a more fair deal and keep physicality

Utah has the cap space to give Freddy the deal he wants

Win/win
I like McBain a lot but not for Frederic. Resign Frederic and Geekie, move Carlo and Coyle.

Kind of crazy to think that if they sell expiring contracts, they're probably sitting on three (late) 1sts, at least that many or more 2nds, and countless lower picks.

Big spot coming for them.

Still think we are going to need to rely on too many teams to collapse and us to be almost perfect for us to make it.

Honestly ,I'm happy with either result. I have been watching the last 10 with that attitude.

Next will be if or when we are realistically out of it we start to see the transition to Providence players getting their chance.

All good

Wouldn’t you have to apply that logic to any team in this morass?

I do, but I only care about the Bruins, just being realistic of their chances. We could win the division still if Im being overly optimistic.
Yes, some embrace the "misery loves company" theory.
It's a good point that the Bruins aren't alone in their mediocrity but it doesn't make me feel any better about their path.

For all you Peeke fans, he has more assists than, Frederic,Coyle,Carlo,Brazeau, Zad, and is tied with Geekie. This for a guy with 0 PP time and a lot of 3rd pair time.
RIGHT and the amount of shit DS took over his contract etc. was ridiculous. Great signing. Not everything that Sweeney's done is wrong. This was a great signing.
I've said it before, he should be tried on the PP.

Good points. He started to look good in the playoffs before he got hurt. He’s just getting better. Reminds me of Johnny Boychuk. Took a while but he got there. I’m glad the coaching staff is giving him more ice time. He has earned it and is flat out playing better than Carlo.

Any one who listens to XM radio of hockey talk shows in Canada the overwhelming thought on Miller is he is a massive pick up. Guy had 100 points last year and only has 3 more years after this one. For me it’s Miller time now! Our PP will be better,we will score more and the Morale of this team will take a huge leap seeing management improving and believing in this team.

Carlo, Lysell, Bussi, 1st ----- > JT Miller
Picks -------> David Savard

when healthy

Geek - Zacha - Pasta
Marchand - JT Miller - Coyle
Frederic - Lindholm - Braz

lohrei - cmac
Lindholm - savard
zadorov - peek

ex - pawtwah
Like the Miller deal
