You ever see those YouTube commercials where some Jamoke comes on and says they don’t want you to know but…..

I’m telling you right now the regular season as fun as it can be is basically fraudulent

You get a trophy for most points - Whoopie shit, you get a higher seed position - wowwee

What you want is the 8th spot

You’re in which is the whole point

but you’re options are fantastic
1. You win round 1 your season is basically made it’s all gravy and you ruined a fan bases summer minimum

2. You lose well you get a very good draft spot where guys like Connor, Harley, Norris, Thomas, Mercer, Barlow etc all went

3. And it makes the regular season interesting come late March when the games actually are interesting unlike 110 point teams set since Black Friday

Any GM authorized to trade any first or second round picks without at least the following year term should be fired

The Bruins are the proof - 2014-2023 most points, most Prez trophies (3), most first round picks traded (5), second round picks (4); 0.0 Cups

This rental culture is garbage, trying to build a super team a waste

7th or 8th is your best bang for entertainment/interest/fun/future
Reg season goes from oct- April. 82 nights of forgetting some things and really enjoying my 2 1/2 hours of hockey. Winning is great.

How this is trending

Bruins hold onto first pick unless player with term
Bruins get 8th seed
Bruins eliminate 1 seed Leafs in six
Yes they need to hold the first pick except for a young gun like Pettersen and be top ten protected but no trade will happen they re not in a good position right bow and have nothing to work with

why would Langenbrunner be good - doesn’t he travel a lot back and forth to his family ?

The next GM probably an outsider

I like Yzerman - he drafts and builds Bruins teams

People in Boston respect and like him I would go there if fired and Gorton can’t and won’t leave Montreal
No clue just spit balling.
Assistant GM,oversees the Providence Bruins and was head of player personal/development,been with the organization for 10 years and seems to be on the upward spiral

David Carle looks like he's Mason Lohrei's dad.

Thank you.

So for those who don't want to / can't listen, Friedman basically said that the Bruins may have a long-term coach in mind (David Carle) and they are considering, if it's not Sacco, do we try to go for Carle now, to make sure he doesn't get away.

Also said he thinks the Bruins are in shock over their season. They knew they weren't as strong as in recent years but they thought they plugged the holes (created by DeBrusk and Grzelcyk) with Lindholm and Zadorov and thought they'd be better than what they are. So now they're regrouping and taking a bigger picture look, and wondering what that means. Which comes back to the coaching again, as in, if Sacco's not the long-term solution, then do we make a move now for that guy.

I can well believe that Bruins management are currently in shock. They have been extremely quiet. Sweeney is used to things working out at least reasonably well and having the team stay above water without too much trouble. For the team to be struggling this much - and I think he's smart enough to know it's been worse than the standings alone might suggest - is largely unfamiliar territory.

Chances are they are, to use that cliched word, evaluating pretty thoroughly, and trying to work out where to from here, both short and medium/long term. Bigger picture as you said. How they eventually respond to this sort of uncertainty and difficulty is going to be interesting.

I am at top 6 pick

Anton Frondell C

We pick 5-6 we can get him

1 year rebuild

I decided I have the attention to handle a 6 months rebuild

Jan - June 2025
Is Frondell tall with average speed, mediocre hands and questionable compete? If so, you’re probably on to something. Fits the mold of Bruins first round center picks.

Related, whichever scout pounded the table for Letourneau better be flipping burgers somewhere.

Lots of chatter with Vancouver. Hypothetically would you trade for Miller or Petterson?

Miller's contract is more favorable and he is more physical. Petterson is younger with a lot of upside. I think he is a talent. Solves the 1C problem the Bruins have as Lindholm would move to 2C where he belongs.

Problem is the price? I would include Carlo in this deal since Vancouver wants and needs defense. Lots of salary implications. What would Vancouver ask for?
Lohrei?
Carlo?
Frederic?
1st Round Pick?
Poitras?

If a high caliber Center is available, the Bruins need to jump on it!

I’m ready for new everything and top 10 picks

Who you want being GM to draft, set up organization, hire all new scouts and coaches

I’m not paying attention to the candidates

Who’s the savior

There is no 'savior' out there and the team doesn't need a dramatic overhaul at this point. They need a #1C, probably another top 6 goal scorer, and a coaching staff that can figure out the damn powerplay. Just the last bit alone would put their goal differential in the positive and been worth a couple more wins- converting in the low 20s% which is about middle of the pack in the league.

We can’t do the Capital reset. We don’t have the high end prospects and everything the Caps did worked out perfectly.Tough to follow that. Lindholm 61/2 years looks tragic for us. Swayman will be fine but this is the first time since Chara’s first year hear that out chemistry is way off.

Joe Haggerty wears me out.
I think Andrew Raycroft is the best of them. He understands how things work behind the scenes. His knowledge of the game is miles beyond the hosts he talks with, but he keeps it respectful and calm. I've seen him try to hold back a smile a few times when someone tried to tell him how it is (when it isn't).

I don't know. IMO we do have two potential top6 talents in Lysell and Poitras. I think we have a potential top4 D in Mason Lohrei.

If we can add a #1c things might fall into place next year. I'm hoping that 1c is Petterson, but it might have to be a buy low / take a chance guy like Washington did with Dubois. We'll also have money to spend on a free agent or two. Teams that struggle tend to over correct so I could see the Bruins bouncing back strong next season... but finding a real #1 center is where it starts and has to be the priority.

When you really get into it, it's our dreadful PP that's holding this team back. If you look at the first unit between Pasta(5), Marchand(2), Lindholm(1), McAvoy(1) and Zacha(0) that's a combined 9 PP goals....NINE. It's absolutely insane how poor the power play has been especially when you take out the contributions of Braz(4) and Coyle(3) from the 2nd unit...the overall percentage looks even worse.

They have 19 PP goals so more have actually come from 2nd unit guys than the 1st.

There are teams that have twice as many goals as us with less opportunities.

Charlie McAvoy has 2 PP assists...TWO

Patrik Laine who has played in only 14 games has as many PP goals as our entire 1st unit over a half of season.

Some changes need to happen but most importantly they NEED a LH powerplay threat on the opposite half wall of Pasta who can shoot, find the seams, actually utilize the bumper, etc. There is nothing more obvious. It has to be Miller, Pettersson, Zegras something of that ilk or just don't bother.

They need a new coach for the PP too. Sacco is not getting it done. Kelly is not getting it done. They need to come up with a scheme that moves guys into different spots. So Pasta goes from the elbow to the bumper. And the bumper goes from the slot to the back door. Movement like that.

I also think Sacco needs to stop pandering to Sweeney and the big money guys. That first unit is the same every week. For example, Elias Lindholm is not productive and doesn't deserve those minutes. Brazeau on the other hand, has produced.
