Quick question. Would you trade Frederic,Carlo, Poitras and a 1st for Byram and Cousins?
Well for one-to-one, take Frederic out of the deal (he was included in taking Hoglander back).

So the two offers swapped for each other:
Carlo, Poitras, 1st Round Pick
for
Cozens and Byram

Personally? I send in the paperwork before Kevyn Adams gets a chance to sober up.

EDIT: Not sure if you’re laughing at me or with me  Is there something I’m missing about the Sabres offer?

No way they take that deal. Ep40 is a stud 440 games 440 points
He is a stud, but that's the kind of package Eichel was dealt for. It's the kind of package Ryan O'Reilly was dealt for when he was a young stud C with the Sabres. It's the kind of package Ottawa got when they dealt Mark Stone.

The Sabres aren't offering Dahlin or Thompson, they're offering Byram and Cozens.

I think that kind of package is far more likely to be what EP goes for.

I think that's robbing Peter to pay Paul.

They liked my Carlo, Poitras, 1st deal. They said that was good value and players they could plug and play.
There is just a small issue with that deal, it is called " SALARY CAP" !!!!

Why are we interested in J.T. Miller here? The guy turns 32 this Spring and has three more years after this at $8m AAV. Leaving aside the locker room stuff, shouldn't the goal be to get younger and start building the next core? I understand rebuild is not very likely under this ownership, but a level of retool that prioritizes moving out overpaid underperforming vets and takes some risks on younger players is what I would like to see.

Not that Miller is not a good player on the ice- and he would fill an immediate need- but does this bring the Bruins closer to sustainable success over the longer term? If the goal is just to try and make the playoffs this year, I guess go after him, but it feels like it would be more of the same next season with even less cap space and whatever futures Vancouver might want. Cap space goes up, but so do average salaries so it ends up being a wash.

Convince me on Miller- I am open to having my mind changed on how this would be a good move both now and going forward. It does really feel like of all the things we've speculated about, Miller and Kreider might be the two guys the Bruins would make a move on. I'm already a no on Kreider for much the same reason I am leaning away from Miller.

My counter is that Pasta is turning 29 later this year. The Lindholms are 30. Zadorov 29. Marchand 36. Etc.. What exactly is the future we are talking about here? The Bruins got lucky as hell to get Pasta and McAvoy without bottoming out. In 3-4 years they will have a pile of guys in their 30s with several years left on their deals. I think the Bruins have a few years here to try to go for it and it’s gonna get painful after that.

I sent a deal on main boards for McAvoy for ep40 . So far good responses .

McAvoy wouldn’t waive.

Maybe see if we can be the team giving quarters for a dollar. Zacha, Carlo, Frederic, Poitras for EP and whatever plug off their defense they want to send over.

These guys are all replaceable imo. Need to take advantage a legit first line center being available.

Trading McAvoy doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

2025 draft is supposed to be a good one, so i think Bs will have the opportunity to draft top 10 be a lottery team could be welcome and i think they can do top 5 the way this team is playing that give no hope except for the worse, their best players are just simply bad...Another concern it s the draft, yes the draft!

I have a solution for that. Coyle to NJ. They have cap space and are in need of a 3c.

Not everything has to be solved in one deal.
They should (and likely have to) retain 50% on Coyle and maximize the return back

Grab two of those 2025 2nd's they have and then steal Kovacevic in the offseason. They are going to want to use him for their run.

Best thing that could happen is Buffalo sending Cozens and Byram for Pettersson

Their top six will be some combination of

Peterka Pettersson Tuch
Benson Thompson Quinn

Centers are locked up longterm and Byram out opens up a huge hole on defense so Carlo for Kulich becomes a reality

McAvoy isn’t waiving at all especially not with his wife about to have their first child. They need to build around him and give him a complimentary partner for a change.
Would he waive to be a Ranger?
