They should (and likely have to) retain 50% on Coyle and maximize the return back

Grab two of those 2025 2nd's they have and then steal Kovacevic in the offseason. They are going to want to use him for their run.

Best thing that could happen is Buffalo sending Cozens and Byram for Pettersson

Their top six will be some combination of

Peterka Pettersson Tuch
Benson Thompson Quinn

Centers are locked up longterm and Byram out opens up a huge hole on defense so Carlo for Kulich becomes a reality
Thompson is a beast .Still cannot believe he was left off USA roster

Pull the trigger on a trade and get help for the Florida trip; have the new player join the team on the road and begin bonding now.

If they come back 0-2 from Florida they will likely be in 10th by the time they play the Sens on the 18th because Tampa likely takes the game in Boston as well.

It’s the mom’s trip. Theyre not going to waive a player whose mom is in town that’s beyond heartless.

Look after the Panthers game Sun/Mon for any moves.

Trades just really aren’t going to happen right now - same every year. Maybe some activity before Four Nations because of the tight timeline afterwards. But still going to be a few weeks.

The weekend will go a long way in determining the rest of this season.

I gotta agree with the crowd last night. Time to fire the guy who can only seem to figure out the back end and goaltending.

If you can’t figure out how to build a top six you should probably not be in charge here. He’s literally acquired zero elite top six player in a decade. Like how do you even accomplish that? Closest guy we had to that they let walk.

I have zero faith in him acquiring anyone of worth. Even worse is he somehow anchored us with another third line center. It’s Sisyphean.

Trading one of these frauds during the moms trip would be great and I'd love to see the behind the b.

What’s the point of overpaying for a guy who will help them make the wild card? They don’t have any chance of winning the cup due to the lack of top end talent. If they just make a trade to shake things up and not give up any real draft capital then fine, but if you’re trading 1st and 2nds to salvage this thing, that’s not good at all and it’s very short sighted. They need to be open to listening to offers for everyone on this roster.

there are so many holes on this team i don’t think any in season quick fix will turn it around. they’ll probably play it out, find a new coach and hopefully gm and go from there.

That says a lot more about you than them.
No show millionaires? What if the next time you flew on Delta the pilot did the type of job Brandon Carlo has this season?

Adding picks and Lysell and Poitras in the lineup is fine for me. Would get me engaged for a drive for the 8 seed if some of the country club vets were moved.

Offensive RD to replace Carlo and bounce between the PPs with McAvoy is the only thing I'd give up assets for but there should be someone with a bloated contract that could come back in a trade for him or Coyle or Zacha.

McAvoy should be completely off the table. He is having a rough season but who isn't on this team? They all currently stink, doesn't mean you deal core pieces.

Swayman
McAvoy
Pastrnak

These three you keep. Everyone else that is currently on the NHL roster I make available. This includes Marchand. Bruins would get an absolute haul for Marchand. The bidding war amongst cup contenders would be insane.

while I want change too, trading from a position of weakness, they`ll get fleeced

Nay, play it out and see where they are after the nations tournament and talk to Marchy about being moved and move forward from there. I just don't feel no-move they could do is going to make that big of a difference and do the Bruins really have the assets ? Imo it would be like "Patching the holes in a boat with a band-aid"

I just don't see much light at the end of the tunnel for this year, unless somehow Sweeney can add an Elias Pettersson type.
