If the Canucks are serious about moving Pettersson or even have thought about it, Donny should be knocking down Rutherford/Alvin door, way before he discusses anything with Drury
He makes $11.6m. Let's say they can swing it this year at the deadline and deal Carlo and Frederic as part of the return.

For next year that leaves them around $12m to sign:
  • 9 more Fs (let's say Marchand on the Bergeron type bargain, Koepke, Brazeau, Beecher and maybe Geekie)
  • Lohrei and 1 other D
Unless Swayman, Pasta or McAvoy is going I don't see how it's possible.

Bruins should only trade for younger players with upside. This is not the year to go all in. Nelson, Kreider, Vatrano = wasted assets
I have to disagree, Mr Dangle. Kreider is the big guy we need it front of the net. He’s big, strong and durable. He would completely change our terrible power play and the entire offense. I realize that I’m the only one who wants him here. I just hope Don and Cam are on board and bring him in.

Newton, MA.
Yeaaaah, okay Chaahrleee.
Hey, don't hate on Charlie.

He's a good player.

Not Raymond, which I think he has tried to be in justifying a 9.5 million contract.

He's a good egg, a very good player when he is on his game, and he cares.

He would make a good captain. Surrounded by the right lieutenants,

✌️❄️

O’ it’s possible as long as the two team can agree on salary/ Players going in an out. I mean obviously the Bruins just can’t take on EP contract without moving out money/players but it can be done.

Lots of different scenarios but I have no idea on who the Cancucks would be willing to take and who Sweeney would be willing to ship out but for me there’s only one Bruins I wouldn’t move out for him.

Throw in Coyle (or return Lindholm) get money retained, add picks

Bruins should be doing literally everything in their power to get a young elite 1C

It’s difficult to do that with the 25th pick every year, just dish it

Lindholm , zadarov cap hit is nearly EP. Just saying, but there’s a start. Of course for any significant move to be made, NTC,NMC would have to be waived.

They give them out like candy now and I don’t blame the players but it doesn’t mean they won’t be willing to be moved, but it does give them control on where and when.

Todays Globe:

“Bruins backliners have gone nearly a month without putting a puck in the net. The last blueliner to score: Zadorov on Dec. 3, in a 3-2 OT win over the Red Wings. Collectively, they’ve fired blanks for 12 consecutive games. Similar to the power play, they present the opposition with little scoring threat, which in turn allows defenses to ratchet down harder on Bruins forwards … ”

The Bruins will miss the playoffs

The Bruins are third in the Atlantic Division with a 20-15-4 record and 44 points. They have 2 more points than the fourth-place Lightning … but they’ve played five more games. The probabilities website playoffstatus.com puts the Bruins’ chances of missing the playoffs at 46 percent and gives the Lightning just a 10 percent chance of staying home.

The Bruins’ best hope is to earn one of the two conference wild cards, but this roster has seen a talent drain the last 18 months. They’re one significant injury away from falling into a rut that they won’t be able to pull out of. Maybe then the reckoning comes for Don Sweeney.

I mean, there's ways hypothetically to clear space. I just don't find those realistic. VAN isn't going to retain on EP for 7 years, for example.

Elias Lindholm has a full NMC for the 1st 5 years of his contract.

I get it, Sweeney should definitely give a call, but it's a really hard deal to make. Especially since the B's don't really have the prospects to outbid other teams. Doesn't hurt to try, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Lucic endorsed him at the draft but the Bruins passed.
The day Craig Cunningham got a hat trick in Providence the Bruins played Montreal here on a Sunday. Gallagher dad Ian Sat right near us and was in crowd night before on SNIH and they showed him. I said to him you got some good face time last night and he laughed

We hung out with him at game and we’re telling him we went to a lot of Providence games - my kid was with me and was playing hockey and we went pretty much every Friday with @Saxon Eric and his kid.

Gallagher was with Vancouver Giants and said ‘you know Cunningham got a hat trick this afternoon’. Cunningham, Lucic, and his kid were on Vancouver. He said he was close with Lucic family and Milan. He Also said I swear (I’ll ask my daughter she was talking to him and after game the three of us went downstairs and he took her to meet Brendan) super nice guy - but he said the Bruins were going to draft Brendan

Brendan wanted to be a Bruins as well as join the other two

I’ll ask my kid but pretty sure he was waiting for them to tske him and went to Habs

Scott Bradley was the Bruins assistant GM or scouting director? - had cancer and couldn’t travel so he hung around Giants rink in Vancouver / he pushed for Lucic & they got him - Chiarelli wasn’t there yet Gorton was acting

I’m not sure if Gallagher was the Lucic draft or next (I think so) when Chiarelli was in charge

Also Montreal had 3 picks after the Bruins took Hamel - two in first and took Ryan McDonagh & MaxPax then in round two took PK

If they got Gallagher in that draft wtf

Also Chiarelli traded a high pick (a 3?) to move up a couple of spots and grab Tommy Cross

I’m going by memory so possible something off on draft but think got right

Thank the hockey Gods Bob Gainey lost his mind and traded McDonagh to Rangers or he could have altered round 1 of 2011

Chiarelli wiff was epic

Bruins were rumored to want Couture instead of Hamel but LC got mono and missed significant time and dumb ass Bruins veered to Zach

Kreider would definetly be an upgrade and help their powerplay a lot. Problem is Bruins are lacking a lot more then that.
