Too lazy to look it up. Is he related to Craig McTavish?

No his dad was a tweener. Never really made it outside of a few games (just looked him up)

Mason plays a very hard nosed game, Bs fans would freak out in excitement if they got to watch his game.

He’s a royal blue chip prospect and the ducks would be crazy to give him up.

That being said they have an abundance of blue chips and other young centers so in theory they could be swayed with a kings ransom.

And he’d be worth it.

Yeah make a Godfather offer for him and not Zegras. That's your 1C for the next decade and Lindy will be fine as 2C.

Take Trouba back and give them Carlo. Toss in however many firsts they need since they will be late.

McTavish
Trouba
Gibson

for

Sway
Carlo
Lohrei
Freddy
Beecher
Lysell
3 firsts

Or something like that. They probably demand Poitras who I saw score his first NHL goals in Anaheim last year.

Swayman > Gibson
Carlo > Trouba

So essentially you’re trading:
Lohrei
Lysell
Frederic
Beecher
(3) 1st round picks

for
McTavish

That’s absurd.

Tomorrow’s Globe:

Ranked a lowly 25th in NHL goals scoring (88 tallies) as of Friday morning, the Bruins could use a guy up front like Matthew Poitras, who has been tearing it up with Providence since being assigned there Nov. 11. Prior to weekend AHL play, Poitras was averaging a point per game (7-8–15), popping in goals at a rate the WannaB’s haven’t enjoyed since the days of Frank Vatrano. Poitras’s recall would appear inevitable, but varsity management has afforded him extra time to build back after shoulder surgery last season. Poitras has an impressive skill set — including knowing where to find high-danger ice in the offensive zone — but he needs to add strength and, equally important, enhance his radar for taking contact. In his 47 NHL games to date, Poitras has taken a handful of heavy body blows, at least a couple of which he could have avoided. In his time here as coach, Jim Montgomery repeatedly warned Poitras to pay attention to time and score, and not sacrifice himself unnecessarily when he’s been lined up in the crosshairs . . .

McTavish is better than any player the Bruins have in their prospect pool by an order of magnitude. That's a crazy offer, anyhow, and also I'm not sure the Ducks are motivated to move on from him. Why would they be, I just don't get it I guess. There are other players coming off of their cap when their young guys come up

I know while Jacobs is still breathing they'll never rebuild or blow it up, but they need to. Its been time for a little while now. Get some young guys in here and see if you can have a good, young, core moving forward. This season hasn't really been all that fun to watch and the results have been mid at best. But I don't expect the Bruins to sell at all because Jacobs needs that home playoff gate.
Washington did not rebuild and seems to be working out well for them.

My logic with the "playoff gate" is if I'm Mr Businessman/Owner then I would much rather get 3 years of some playoff money with little promise if winning it all, than 3 years of missing the playoffs but with much better promise to winning it all, later.

Owners want to see $$, Fans want to see champions. Big difference there.
Rebuilds, are not always the answer, look at Buffalo, how many have they had, Detroit, Anaheim, and others.

I would take this post as sarcasm or just a joke, but then I looked at the poster and now I know it is serious......... Merry Christmas anyways.

The Coach is a huge reason

Once a year I criticize Don Sweeney - it’s usually December 23 but since you posted this I’ll do it now and hope Donny doesn’t see it since he knows I’m the GOAT when it comes to the Bruins

Hockey Genie or is it Jeannie (Barbara Eden was a Jeannie) gives me 3 Sweeney corrections of his decisions

1. Draft Kyle Connor at 14 over DeBrusk (they were taking a LW to replace Lucic)

2. Draft Robert Thomas over Uhri Vaakanainen in 2017. Rumor was Sweeney wanted him and gave in to Euro scouts as the pick was on the clock

3. Pick former assistant coach of Providence Bruins I believe he hired Spencer Carbury over Monty. They hired the wrong bald guy

Sorry Donny I still think you are awesome and will spend next 364 days defending every move even ones I would not have done

They aren't rebuilding, so best you can hope for is two FA signings that produce good results and maybe a trade where you get a couple of good players and a good prospect for McAvoy and all hit say next year.

Poitras hasn't played in the NHL since Monty got whacked, right? And he seems to be doing well in Providence. Might be worth giving him another cup of coffee under Sacco

i think i like how he's trending in providence and would rather keep him there a few more weeks at least. he's reportedly improved a great deal with his 2 way game and his endurance. every shift he took in the NHL, it looked like he was about to die after 35 seconds (he'd be hunched over skating to the bench).

Bruins have been good not great with Sacco but 15 games 21 points ~ 114 point pace I’d keep him down as long as can

Said it in the Frederic thread but a trade for Zach Bolduc makes a lot of sense.

Holloway has been an absolute steal for them. They are getting their top six figured out with Jake Neighbours playing a good complimentary role to guys like Thomas, Kyrou, Schenn, Buchnevich

But they have Sundqvist playing 3C (yuck). Not to mention they have Snuggerud likely joining by the end of the year and Dvorsky not too far behind

Freddy can handle the pivot for a little until they make the jump but they have a lot of young talent coming up and only so many top six spots.
