Went to Centenial game he was a monster - led in minutes for D, blocks, +2

Went against Caps was o/s on kill especially

Was a +7 over four games after Monty gone playing with AHL call up

islanders game 20 minutes + 3, 5 hits, and 3 Block shots to lead team.

In the Winnipeg shit show he was good

I agree. I think when Carlo is playing well he's a B+ shut down defender. Great size, great stick, great skater, great mind for defense. I also think he's more physical than people give him credit for. What keeps him being an A or A+ is the lack of a mean streak, and IMO his net front coverage has always been spotty. Great at sticks in lanes, great at fronting the shot, but not great at preventing rebound shots by tying guys up or boxing out.

Unfortunately, he hasn't played at that level most of this season, but the idea that we'd be better off without him is nonsense. I'd trade anyone for an upgrade, but moving Carlo and elevating Peeke or dusting off Wotherspoon is a huge downgrade.

I see the allure of Kreider. If you get the Kreider of the last 3 seasons you're getting a superstar. A 50 goal scorer, a net from PP guy, one of the fastest players in the league, a good penalty killer, a clutch playoff scorer... and with Pasta switching to passing this year a finisher on his left looks like the perfect match.

But there's a reason they are looking to unload him. He hasn't played well. Rangers fans say he does't forecheck or back check. The effort and drive is gone. Is that because he's 34 years old? Is it because of injury? Is he mad because the GM threw him under the bus and told the league him and Trouba were available? Or is that whole team just so screwed up that guys can't function?

Carlo is second in the league for fewest offensive zone starts, first for fewest OZ faceoff starts. He’s 12th in the league in PK minutes. He gets absolutely buried. Same as the last two years. And he’s been doing it with Oesterle as his partner.

His results aren’t as good but that’s pretty obvious given the team’s start. If Andrew Peeke is eating those minutes instead we’re in real trouble.

When the Bruins fired Montgomery, I went into detail on one of my pods about what's next.

Because of the schedule, I considered the first 9 games under Sacco a mini training camp where the first thing he had to do was fix the defense and the second thing was to get the players in shape. The PP was last on my list because I truly believe you can win with a bad PP but not bad defense and bad PK. It appears Sacco was of the same belief.

We are at the PP stage now, but it is not yet a finished product. As I mentioned earlier (thanks Ty Anderson) the Bruins PP ranks 13th in the league at 21.4% since Dec 4 game against Chicago. And that includes the two horrific games against Winnipeg and Seattle.

Will Sweeney make a move to bolster the PP?

I think his priority right now is to try and get Frederic under contract and under his terms and hope that Frederic can return to the offensive production of the last 2 seasons. Not so worried about Marchand as he will be in Boston if that's his choice and equally not as worried about Geekie because he's an RFA with arb rights. Once Sweeney is 100% sure whether Frederic will or will not be a Bruin going forward, he will make his move based on that. I can't see any situation where he keeps Frederic as his own rental.

I watched him a few times this season and lazy uninspired play would be an understatement.Any deal that requires parting with out 1st then I say pass.If he was the Kreider we all wanted he would not be available.Cant see getting him without them wanting that 1st .

When Lindholm comes back, what does everyone think the Bruins do with Osterle and Wotherspoon? Do one of them get waived or traded?

I love the Lindholm - Carlo pairing

The issue is they both are nice guys - pretty boys to many
The Carlo is soft is one of the single craziest bat shit takes on Bruins

Osterle has definitely won the job over Wotherspoon. It might be a good idea to give Wotherspoon a few games and see if you can find a taker for him. Wotherspoon is a decent defenseman but having him sit must be difficult.

If Poitras can get you a nice return, then it should be done, Carlo should only be moved for a overpayment, the Bruins are in cap shit house, why would you want to move on from that contract and or player, unless it is a overpayment. Addition by subtraction can be costly.

Why should they trade their top six center prospect who has already shown he can play in the NHL?

What's a nice return for Poitras? Am I moving him in a package for a 22 year old future core player? Maybe Am I moving him for Kreider, or some other later career player, absolutely no way.

Krieder already got moved for peanuts. Every player on the rangers is getting moved for peanuts :p
