not a chance. I’d never move a top four rd for a disinterested 34 year old with 2 years left at 6.5. He has zero assists.

That’s a crazy payment for Trouba and kreider.

Carlo is a lot better than Trouba. And I’m a big fan of Trouba. I love how he crushes people. Trouba is over paid.

Kreider would be worth more if he was younger of only had one year on his contract.

Fredric has way more value than you’re proposing.

Coyle is needed. Unless we are out of the playoffs. Who will play centre if they move him for kreider?
You are making a lot of good points, Trouba, big hits would be interesting, but know way do the Bruins want that contract, well at least they shouldn't. Krieder should be their target, how they get him without hurting this roster, not sure to be honest. I am not as high on the Bruins prospects, as much as everyone else, they just don't to me scream, I can help this team. I would move them, not picks, but again I suck at making proposals.

Poitras or you hold onto Frederic and just move Coyle. If you think Trouba is overpaid so is Coyle for what he brings.

Strongly disagree. Trouba makes 2.8 million more. He is basically a good third pairing or an ok second pairing defender. He doesn’t provide much offense either. I love watching Trouba crush ppl but he isn’t great overall. Coyle has regressed but he still contributes by scoring goals and winning faceoffs. 5.2 million for a second/third line centre vs 8 million for a 4th-6th defenseman.

You gotta think Geekie's rope he's been given by playing on the top line is probably reaching it's end.
Surely if they had someone who could do anything they’d take his spot given how useless he’s been, but who would it be?

That's the problem in a nutshell. Because it's Bruins, they won't run a pure skill kid up there like Lysell (yeah yeah what has he proved etc etc) and let him go for ten games +. It can't be any worse than the Geek in that spot to this point.

I think they're crossing their fingers that Geekie breaks out of his slump and Pasta/Zacha get going again. IMO they can't watch much longer and need to start looking in the trade market for a scoring upgrade. It's not really Sweeney's MO to trade this far out from the deadline, but he may need to.

I think there's a game management issue that people overlook when they talk about Charlie Coyle.

Coyle takes on the worst jobs on the team, which frees up the 1st and 2nd lines to take on easier jobs. He has something like 64% Dzone starts against top lines. Marchand's line gets 55% OZ starts and Pasta's line is around 62% OZ starts. If you pull Coyle out of the lineup who does that job? Coyle takes a lot of crap from the fan base but he's the guy that takes a hit to make everyone else's job a little easier.

Totally agree. I think the amount of versatility he brings is really underappreciated by a lot of people. Yes, his best role is 3C, but he'll slot in wherever you need him and he always gives you a solid effort.

I don't see the Geek resurfacing. He was a pleasant surprise last season and has regressed significantly this year.

I don't see him helping the Bruins and I don't see him bringing back anything of value by himself.

Packaged as an add-on with Frederic and a tweener prospect, maybe they get a bit of help coming back.

Geekie goes to net ~ he was used incorrectly by Softgomery

Surely if they had someone who could do anything they’d take his spot given how useless he’s been, but who would it be?

Geekie gotta out of that first line . Hurts my eyes. Excellent on 3rd line though.

They have Geekie on the top line because he's been the most effective player there...

Geekie-Zacha-Pasta = 70.5 xG%
Johnson-Zacha-Pasta = 64.5 xG%

Marchand-Lindholm-Pasta = 60% xG%
Zacha-Lindholm-Pastrnak = 42.2 xG%

That's probably more evidence why the Bruins are looking for a power forward who can score, and not just a forward who can score. Zacha-Pasta seem to do well with power forward types like Bertuzzi and Geekie. They do better with Geekie than a more skilled Lindholm or a smarter Tyler Johnson.

This all feels like Marchand for Drury.
Jack Drury? I see him play a lot. He's a plus defender at a young age (he better be playing for Rod). He skates well. Not sure how much offensive upside there is. He gets minutes with necas and svech but not a lot of points even though he gets PP2 time.

No back when everyone was into trading for Chris Drury right before he fell off a cliff. They aren't trading Brad Marchand for a bottom sixer lol.
