not a chance. I’d never move a top four rd for a disinterested 34 year old with 2 years left at 6.5. He has zero assists.

That’s a crazy payment for Trouba and kreider.

Carlo is a lot better than Trouba. And I’m a big fan of Trouba. I love how he crushes people. Trouba is over paid.

Kreider would be worth more if he was younger of only had one year on his contract.

Fredric has way more value than you’re proposing.

Coyle is needed. Unless we are out of the playoffs. Who will play centre if they move him for kreider?
Just wondering what planet is Carlo better than Trouba? Does Trouba stand around and watch his goalie get peppered?

They have Geekie on the top line because he's been the most effective player there...

Geekie-Zacha-Pasta = 70.5 xG%
Johnson-Zacha-Pasta = 64.5 xG%

Marchand-Lindholm-Pasta = 60% xG%
Zacha-Lindholm-Pastrnak = 42.2 xG%

That's probably more evidence why the Bruins are looking for a power forward who can score, and not just a forward who can score. Zacha-Pasta seem to do well with power forward types like Bertuzzi and Geekie. They do better with Geekie than a more skilled Lindholm or a smarter Tyler Johnson.
Yup see it same

Geekie should be instructed you need to be around the net and take defenders, cause screens, hunt for rebounds, open up room

Last game third period alone he had 2 phenomenal chances and rung post earlier

Strongly disagree. Trouba makes 2.8 million more. He is basically a good third pairing or an ok second pairing defender. He doesn’t provide much offense either. I love watching Trouba crush ppl but he isn’t great overall. Coyle has regressed but he still contributes by scoring goals and winning faceoffs. 5.2 million for a second/third line centre vs 8 million for a 4th-6th defenseman.
What is Coyle contributing? Isn’t he like -10? He has four total points. Way, way overpaid for the next to nothing he brings. He has negative value.

It looks like McLaughlin is in for Geekie tonight.

Trouba is bad apparently- I am probably like you think money aside he’s good but I know Rangers fans that hate him - could be deserved or could be because most fans of a team hate most of their players

I’ve always been fond of him but ….

Hmmm read Johnson earlier

I’d rather see McLaughlin than Johnson. I’d love to see Trouba paired with Zadorov. It would not be fun to enter our zone.

Trouba would have been good on the 1975-79 Bruins

Arguably the the toughest/skilled team ever assembled

Carlo is better at taking time and space, is better at taking away the lanes, better at getting the puck out of his zone imo.

someone needs to carry the piano so pasta and zacha can play it.

Coyle is winning faceoffs and has 4 goals. He could hit 15-20 goals. Is there a lot of 30+ year old 20 goal players making less than $5? I haven’t checked to be honest. But I feel like his contract really isn’t bad at all. It’s pretty fair. It’s a bargain if he can somehow pull 50 points out of his hat this year. He started horribly slow but has started playing better.

This.

I don't like his play right now. Not at all. He's coming on lately but this is what the realistic options are for Boston, a Zacha 2.0.

Boston needs to buy low on a player who has skills and has fallen out of favour in the city. We aren't seeing Boston land a 1st line C in a trade. No cap space, value to trade and trading partners.

Imagine what Malkin would cost?
Tage Thompson?

Boston simply doesn't have it without moving McAvoy or Pastrnak.

So for me, give me a Zegras, Cooley, Tippett, etc. that may be available at a reasonable price and hope they buy into the culture and system and find their game.

people are concerned with mortgaging the future, bruins actually have one of the younger rosters in the league (younger still when poitras was on the team AND currently have no future as it stands. So what future are we mortgaging?

unless your getting rid of the Pastas, McAvoys and Swaymans, there is no rebuild.

Also, the bigger problem, no Bruins on ELC contracts right now? Merkulov called up is the 1st and only?

Add Cuylle and I do it. Would like to add Lysell instead of the first but wouldn't let that hold up trade. They add grit, goal scoring and leadership and get rid of playoff underachieving Coyle.
Rangers aren't doing that. .You would be lucky to get Cuylle and Trouba for that.

Now do David Backes. You just don't know.
Well, you’re right. You just don’t know. Some players continue to play well into their mid-30s. So just because Kreider is 33, doesn’t mean he’s washed up.

I think Backes’s numbers appeared to be generally declining in the couple of seasons prior to Boston. Goals in mid-high 20s. Kreider’s are 39, 36, 52.

Everything points to the forced rebuild coming when Pasta ages out. I’d rather they keep trying to win than hang their hopes on late firsts turning into Pasta’s instead of Frederics. and Beechers. If the first can get you quality guys on the right side of 30 for the forward group, you do it.

You could do worse for sure. He would slot in very well at 1LW and help the PP, but the team really has bullets for one move this year and add Krieder’s cap hit starts to limit you going forward. You don’t want to miss out on some younger unhappy guy that becomes available because you blew your load. Of course, that guy might not become available.
