The system is going to change ... some players are already familiar with what the change will be and benefit dramatically.
Defensively within a few games we should see a dramatic improvement as the Defensive structure will become tighter.
If nothing else, Sacco learned defensive aspects of the game from Julien and modified aspects from Cassidy.
Others may be skeptical about how much impact this will have on performance, but I'm suspecting within 10 - 20 games we will see a much different team.
We just need to be patient and give them time to adapt.
If after another 20 games if things haven't improved then we will know for sure it was not only a coaching issue with this team.

That's all we can probably expect really. A return to what worked before defensively. Other than rearranging the deck chairs up front, I'm not sure what he can do to get them to generate more goals. Even then, I'd expect less changes in the lines game-to-game and within the game under Sacco as I believe it had become a sticking point with the players.

I doubt you can replace his minutes right now (Coyle's) if you look at them. Specially in the dzone and dot. The idea that it's the next man up taking them should worry you. Unless you want a top pick, which you might!
Why you think relying on Coyle and playing him as much as we do will keep us away from a top pick?

That will help get there is what Im afraid of and no I don't want and never do what a top pick, I like to win.

I wonder who the two teams are. Probably Anaheim is one seeing we have a history. St Louis could be one because they saw how Freddy likes to play against them. I’d really like to think Pasta for Tkachuk, but why would Ottawa do that?

Wishful thinking....Pasta and Carlo for Tkachuk and Chabot??????
I love Tkachuk but only Bruins fans could think trading an 100pt winger for a guy who has been point per game once is the way to fix our offense.

We would then spend the next 7 years complaining about how we need a goal scorer, just like we did after Kessel left and then again after Seguin left.

Tkachuk is one of those top 5 draft picks we need, right?

I think an under the radar need for this team is a PP QB. I get the focus should be in the top six but this is right behind it for me.

McAvoy can’t run one. Lindholm is hurt and Lohrei just isn’t ready. I’m not sure what is out there but it’s been missing since Krug left. Shatty was also solid last year jumping in at times to the first unit and getting pucks on net.

Maybe a Geekie for Gustafsson swap. Cap hits line up.

It’s likely easier to acquire and less expensive than a top forward. Maybe Tyson Barrie? Just spitballing

They have a qb, like it or not. Pasta needs to start scoring on the PP, That's the problem as well.

Can we look up how many times McAvoy puts the puck on a b line for a one timer to Pasta only for him to hit the goalie or miss all together
Or even better yet throw it back McAvoy with pressure on him.

Yes he needs to shoot more to keep the pk team honest but Pasta needs to start producing and the guy playing the number needs to shoot.

I mean do you think that Coyle and Frederic are 20 point players? That Zacha and Lindholm are 30 point players? That Pasta is a 70 point player?

They do need another scoring forward obviously and clearly. But there is a lot of missing offense here, too.

Exactly. Trading Pasta is just a silly notion.

It's a "Thin Skins" rumor. Not worth the electrons it is printed on.
I’m always worried when a potentially lame duck gm is trying to keep his job. This is the stuff that creates bigger issues down the road than we already have
