Well things are desperate but not that desperate. Bringing up heartless, talentless smurfs like Lysell and Markulov isn't going to happen. Kuntar has 3 assists and you would hate him after watching him. He's more than a little dirty and takes a lot of penalties, I would be fine with him getting a look.

Coyle, Carlo, Zacha. The players who are suppose to produce but aren't, that are soft and the head of the country club act need to go.

Very few guys have done much this year, including the players I like, I was expecting a ton more from Frederic, Swayman has been mediocre, McAvoy average. They need to make changes. That should start with Montgomery and one of the core players. Whatever trade they make should be for a Chara level leader, not another wimp.
Truly amazed you can watch this team skate in mud and struggle to score and think Kuntar is what they need.

So your answer is let's call up a 4th line talent?
He is a perfect Bruin prospect, maybe an NHL 3-4 tweener. Fits right in with the rest of the organization.

My answer is trade Lysell for a top 9 veteran. Move him before he becomes the next Senyshyn.
Or try him with NHL players? Before you cast him aside.

feeling like they could be sellers

Anything is possible if they fall out of the race, but if this team has a realistic shot of making the postseason at the end of February they are not going to be sellers. Doesn't mean they won't flip a FA to be, but more likely in an effort to get more talent somewhere, or at least locked up talent.

Id like to see him get a look with some NHLers but seems you've made your mind up on him already

I'd like to see him earn a look and he has done nothing to do that in his pro career so far. He certainly didn't earn it with a nothing camp, and his mediocre performance at Providence is not screaming i'm ready

Don't worry folks. Pat Brown and Oesterle are here! This team is funny. Good lord.

Thus far E. Lindholm and Zadorov have been major disappointments.

At least Lindholm has shown some flashes, but what exactly does Zadorov do well? I can't seem to find a single good element to his game.

Hopefully these guys and the rest of the bunch can turn it around but this has become very hard to watch.

Same, but at this point we need any speed and skill we can get. Try him out before you make any major roster moves....or Merk i don't care which one

Zadorov is a 4/5 dman that generally does better as a #5. We have like a decade of sample size at this point that says that’s who he is. Deploy him like that guy and he can contribute to good playoff teams, he’s done it very recently with the flames and Nucks.

deploying him on the top pair was literally never gonna work. Team just needs to accept that and put him where he can succeed.

In 18 games, Freddy and Coyle each have 4 points and are -12 and -9 respectively. I guess having them on the same line now is designed to help all the forwards on the other lines.

Koepke continues to defy logic, posting a +10 on this team.

In 4 games, Tyler Johnson has no points and is hardly noticeable. And he's a +3. Bring back the good luck charm!

With Lindholm and Peeke out, you can't really do that, right?

I agree thought the upgrades were big here but seemed every phase has taken a step back.
the defense looks like a mess the forwards can't figure out what going on there just plain crap.
Sway has looked horrible PK/PP Stinks . last night most of the goals were given up 5-5 just bad hockey. I think Jim gets to the New Year but at least the PP coach needs to be sent packing.

It's because Koepke busts his ass on every shift, something you can't say about Coyle or Freddy. Not that I think they are lazy players or not trying (though Fred has floated a lot this season), but Koepke has a different type of motor on him.

This team badly needs another impact player offensively! On the bright-side at least the 8 million dollar off season signing is nearly on par with last year.:sarcasm:
A question does need to be asked why the players that remain have regressed so poorly, Cant just be loss of f***ing Jake DeBrusk and Danton Heinen.

Last night, I found it very disheartening to watch Monty's body language and
for the life of me I can't understand why, besides money (his contract) he's still here.
He's swaying to the music, yawning and in general shows a complete
lack of interest.
They couldn't fire him after the 2023 playoff meltdown because the players were running the show and it looked as though he was a brilliant coach.
Last season the expected big drop never occurred so he lived to coach another day.
Now, a quarter into the season we get the Monty version that's checked out and yawning (BTW, I don't blame him I was too) but he's the f***ing coach and needs to at least feign interest and show some fire when your team gets jobbed by the refs etc.
But no, he's banking every $ he can because he knows that he's about to be canned and figures there's nothing here worth fighting for by
criticizing the officials.
At least he could've instilled the "it's us against the world" kind of leadership to get his players to buy in.
But no, he is the Bruins coach an barely made a whimper when Benn got two minutes for his nasty check.
Then, during the fight Benn pulled off Zadorov's helmet and nothing came of that for an extra penalty. Still, not a whimper of protest.
If Sacco is the heir apparent, isn't it past due that the move is made?
IMO it is. Does Sacco even want the job?
It's the easy move. So maybe there's fear that it's the F.O's last coaching change allowed until his contract is up?
More questions than answers, but DS should start with the easy answers.

I'm not sure if I really like these options; but two UFAs to be that might help our top 6 are former Bruins, Frank Vatrano and Ryan Donato. Vatrano has been okay so far this year, but coming off a career high season, and Donato has been solid since leaving Boston; and has 8 goals already this year, which matches Pasta for our team lead.

Both those teams are not playoff bound teams; so they would likely be selling anyway.

Vatrano-Zacha-Pasta
March-Lindholm-Donato
Freddy-Coyle-Geekie
Koepke-Katelic-Brazeau

Not sure what goes the other way or if we need to clear cap space; Beecher, Lysell, Merkulov, etc. I'll leave that up to you trade makers.

They need more character and leadership.
For a team that has repeatedly passed on better talent in favor of character and leadership qualities, it’s pretty disheartening.

Coyle and Koepke are the 2 hardest and most noticeable players on the ice. For good reasons.
