It would have allowed us to trade Carlo.Who would Fabbro replace? That pick up makes zero sense for the B's unless they trade or waive one of their own 7-8 Men.

shift Brazz down to 3L, move Kastelic up to 2nd, gives them a guy who`ll pounce on the opposition D freeing pucks for Lindholm and MarchandI thought @PlayMakers was smoking the good stuff laced with better stuff when he mentioned Kastelic with Zacha and Pasta as an option.
But after seeing how much having Kastelic on the 3rd line rejuvenated that line... maybe its worth a look and slotting Geekie down on the third line where he belongs.
No.You sure about that?
The execution won't change without coaching and strategy changes
Im not the biggest Carlo fan but Im not dumb eitherIt would have allowed us to trade Carlo.
I got shot down when I asked on 'what's bruin' if they thought Kastelic could play up in the lineup. They seemed to agree that he was primarily a 4th liner.shift Brazz down to 3L, move Kastelic up to 2nd, gives them a guy who`ll pounce on the opposition D freeing pucks for Lindholm and Marchand
When I had Craig on the show last week, he actually suggested taking Braz off and replacing him with Kastelic. I don't mind that temporarily but I don't think he is a second line winger, therefore not a long term fix, and I'd rather they tried to find that. Doesn't mean I am right. I've had my share of misses.I got shot down when I asked on 'what's bruin' if they thought Kastelic could play up in the lineup. They seemed to agree that he was primarily a 4th liner.
My thought in asking was - in just watching him play there is more there for the taking.
He's only 25 and traditionally forwards don't hit their prime until sometime between 25-30.
He has good puck pursuit, not afraid to go to the dirty areas, finishes his checks, and seems to have good finish given the limited sample size.
He is creating space for himself on the ice and gaining respect of opponents by being willing to drop the gloves.
He is playing with a tenacity that few others on the team are currently exhibiting.
Whether his skills and talent will be able to match his effort is still to be seen.
In the end maybe he is just an exceptional 4th liner, but for a team in need, they would be amiss if they did not push the envelope to see where his ceiling may be.
In fairness Tervainen was a guy you suggested this offseason in the top 6, whom I also was onboard with, and he has only 2 more points than Brazeau and costs way more. Tervainens linemates are arguably performing better than Brazeaus as well. I think Brazeau is a great 3rd line guy if you have properly slotted guys in the top 6.The fact that brazeau and kasteloc are even being mentioned at 2nd line or 3rd line options goes to show how much this past offseason was mismanaged by the front office.

All I'm getting at is it's easy to say they mismanaged because of where they are slotted, but some of the guys available who you, myself, and others would have preferred haven't been much better.True, but there’s reason I’m not GM of the Bruins lol.
Regardless of who I wanted or anyone else. Kastelic and Brazeau aren’t 2nd line players.

Letting Debrusk go is probably the one that hurt the most
What do you think about the organizational philosophy that manifests itself in Tyler Johnson and Marc McLaughlin getting middle six shifts and not Lysell or Poitras? I know Poitras a bit more complex given where they are, but at some point you have to give consistent opportunities to these prospects. When I had Craig on the show last week, he actually suggested taking Braz off and replacing him with Kastelic. No way dont touch that 4th line it's a monster .shift Brazz down to 3L, move Kastelic up to 2nd, gives them a guy who`ll pounce on the opposition D freeing pucks for Lindholm and Marchand
For the record I think you and Chris do a great job with the podcast and provide invaluable insight; everyone here if they get the chance should watch an episode or two. When I had Craig on the show last week, he actually suggested taking Braz off and replacing him with Kastelic. Letting DeBrusk go was no matter what side of the fence you are on,can be debated, but not replacing Jake is the move or lack of that is hurting them. All I'm getting at is it's easy to say they mismanaged because of where they are slotted, but some of the guys available who you, myself, and others would have preferred haven't been much better.

has it gotten better since last year when it sucked? No.
I've never been good at looking into the future.
Why not?
Yep, well said, we miss his speed and skill right nowLetting DeBrusk go was no matter what side of the fence you are on,can be debated, but not replacing Jake is the move or lack of that is hurting them.
