I went to check how close he ended to Cristall in WHL scoring on sunday morning and he had 26 PTS in his last 5 games

He had a two game run of 8 points one night and then 7 the following game. In on 15 of his teams 17 goals in those two games with two hat-tricks.
In his draft-1 year, he finished with 129 points in 56 games. That is 29 more points in 6 less games than Bedard had his Draft-1 year. Oddly enough, Bedard out produced McKenna 8 pts in 7 games vs 1 point in 5 games at the WJC, but some of that should be attributed to usage. Both did have Dave Cameron as head coach in their respective d-1 WJC tournaments, though.
