Now that we're getting close to Rememberence Day, we can discuss the Loser's Race here.

By the end of November or Black Friday (November 27th), the standings are pretty much set. Yes I know there is the rare team (like EDM) that claw their way back, but nothing more really.

Teams like CBJ, ANA, MTL, SJS, and BUF know about Black Friday all too well.

If your team is sitting between 9 and 14 points right now then you're in the Loser's Race.

NJD have played 15 games. Most teams are hovering around 13 games now.

3 things stand out:

1. MTL fans felt they had one hell of an offseason. That they would make a massive jump in the standings, and slip into a wildcard spot.

2. PIT hired Dubas with the premise of win now, and to squeeze the last out of Crosby/Malkin/Letang. It's looking like a short-term/long-term disaster.

3. Barry Trotz is now pondering/threatening a re-build if his team doesn't get going. If he pulls the plug on having a competitive season, will he fire Brunette...and then himself?

Yes, he's a fine 2-way defender and was a perfect compliment to Josi in his 95 point season.

He's a no4 at worst and better than Schenn Lauzon Carrier Del Gaizo and Stastny.

Ya usually 3-4 teams different, from points percentage, out of the 16.
Probably December 1 is a better date now, with later starts to season.
