Hynes winning with the Preds rejects. Imagine...wishing to be waived, young Preds and tweeners hoping for Cbus and Minnesota to snatch them up into a system to find success lol. Trotz is becoming a laughing stock to take advantage of because of his undying love for Bruno

I guess Askarov has been sent back down?

His SJ stats are unimpressive, admittedly on a bad team

4-6-2 3.10 .896

We know all about "bad teams".

Askarov is pretty close to being ready... I definitely feel the vindictiveness/revenge factor for the stunt he pulled. I think that's fair... for fans. The GM should have been a little smarter/more patient than us fans, though? Obviously we would have been better off for the long run had we traded Saros and kept Askarov, right? Does anybody disagree with that now, even with the very little hindsight we have under the wheels? :dunno:

That's only true if we also don't sign the 3 big FAs. Otherwise we waste the remaining good years of ROR, Stamkos and Marchy with a goalie who is learning or a marginal starter like Lankinen.

It sucks that it has all crapped out, but that is sometimes what happens when you go All In

That's just an urban myth to me. I doubt those guys cared one bit about Saros/no Saros. He is no legend. They Got Paid. End of story. We're going to waste whatever those years are anyway now. That extension happened after the fact (given all the hijinx of UFA period these days), and I'm sure had no bearing whatsoever on their signings.

Saros was still under contract for this season, we clearly could have waited to see how things looked. It was a dumb decision no matter how you try to excuse it.

If we axe Bruno this summer and play normal system, Saros will rebound with strong year and that contract will look much better.
Well, I'm confident if we have a decent defensive system, Saros will look alright, anyway. His contract still won't look good. But that ship has already sailed. It's going to be a topic here for 8 more years, yay.

You misunderstood my point. After we decided to splurge on the big 3 there was no way to dump our vezina caliber goalie. Either all in or none in.

From the main board:

Around 3 p.m. Saturday, police in Nolensville, about 35 miles from Nashville, took several calls about reckless driving by the driver of a blue Tesla. Officers called in didn't find the car, but about a half hour later another call came in: the incriminated Tesla had collided with a white Cadillac in a nearby neighborhood. And the same car crashed into a mailbox in nearby Brentwood a short time later.

No one was hurt, but the driver sped away from the scene. "However, there were several witness statements that indicated that Martin Erat was the driver of the blue Tesla," an intervening police officer told the media. No one was injured in the accident.
