I'm a Pärssinen waiver-wire away from seriously considering my position as a fan of this team.
I am the most checked out I have been in my 14 years as a fan of this team.

Luckily work is keeping me "good" busy so I have less time to get into the weeds of this team so may end up dropping Preds, keeping casual interest in Utah and waiting for Atlanta NHL to arrive. It's been fun.

There's room on the bandwagon up here for any of all y'all if a break period is needed.
Thanks, but I don't think I could realistically pull for any other team in the league. I would probably just try to switch to "neutral observing" and just decrease amount of time I spend on watching the Preds.

It's just starting to approach the point where I cannot stand behind the team, its decisions or values anymore.

This is where I am. Instead of trying to watch every Preds game like before, I pretty much have to be bored and out of options to tune in right now. I could watch Dallas with my kids, but that team has never won me over, or I could watch some other games if I happened to be bored on a night the Preds weren't playing just because I like the game... but I'm more likely to just do "neutral observing" - or at least, observing purely motivated by my fantasy leagues. With the fading ember of hope and my greater familiarity with the Preds situation still keeping me checking the boxscores and posting here... wishing for that ember to be fanned back into a flame... but not really with any reason to think it will anytime soon? :dunno:

Eh I can remember the starting years, oof talk about some bad hockey with little to no hope of winning. The only reason either are different is expectations. I tolerated it then, I can tolerate it now, I'll just b#tch about it.
Yeah, "tolerating" is definitely down to life circumstances too. I have "tolerated" in the past for sports teams. When I had a lot more time on my hands. Now... I need to carve out that time from a crazy schedule... and I'm not going to do that unless I have a better payoff.

Maybe I missed it posted somewhere, but were the Stamkos comments posted from after the weekend game? They played it this morning on Robbie and Rexrode and it sure sounds like there is something within his comments that he decided against airing out to the media. He basically came out and said "I have some thoughts....." but then decided to stay team friendly. It's hard to know what he was referencing, so it leaves you guessing on what he feels is missing. Did anyone else catch those comments?

I've watched this 2 or 3 times now and I think it's possible people are reading more into it than what's there.

Look, I don't want to come across as a fair-weather fan. I know there's been even tougher times than these but the start of this season has to be up there - taking expectations into consideration.

I don't even want to account the fact that there's going to be pain ahead getting this team back into contention. That's the name of the game if you're in a rebuild.

It's just, I feel like this organization doesn't know itself what it's trying to do and they are mortgaging good chunks of the future while they're on this clueless quest. For me, there has to be a direction, a blueprint that you can confidently show and tell that this is the way to success. I just can't get behind this philosophy of spending +$100M in the off-season and jettisoning all the younger players out of the way while the highly-paid vets suck wind and just completely tank this team and its future.

The reason I spend time with this sport is for different purposes and if this team is continuously unable to provide me those purposes, I see no reason why I should continue to spend my time with this team.

I still wonder if our Captain liked him? I mean, the results were there. And if he liked playing with that guy, he probably has enough of a voice that the coaches would listen. And if he didn't like playing with that guy... :dunno:
Not sure this theory lines up well. I know Josi personally recruited two free agents in recent years and neither one of them lasted even one season after signing with us. So I doubt anyone is listening to Josi TBH.

I would legit sit Bruno down in a room and have him watch and explain, and if not acceptable, fire him on the spot in regards to tomasino and fabbro. The guy is clueless
