I fear that's going to be our Erat-Forsberg trade. Obviously different circumstances but still.
Eh, depends how the return pans out. Edstrom is off to a great start in the SHL this year and there's still a pick to be made so even if Askarov is a star it hopefully won't approach the disaster (from the Caps' perspective) of the Forsberg trade.

It's pretty tough to imagine that Askarov will be BETTER than Saros in the next 3-4 years anyway. Regardless of how well things go for him, that's a very very high bar. So it's not likely to hurt us within the kind of timeframe that Trotz has prioritized. Past that timeframe, who knows what will be happening in the world/NHL. :dunno:

Cody Glass on IR. He’s produced four assists and a -7 for the Penguins. Why did we get rid of him??? He woulda fit right in on the Preds this year!
Back to his old ways of constant injury. I really feel for the dude. It has to be hard never being able to get into a rhythm

Askarov is puttin up some really good numbers. Im not sure what the overall quality of the Sharks AHL team is but theyre doing good this year too. They were terrible last season so im not sure how much of that is due to askarov or if it is just a better all around team this year.

His counting stats are similar to both our AHL goalies though.

Big Ask
7 games
1.73 GAA
.942 SV%

Chrona
5 games
1.4 GAA
.953 SV%

Murray
6 games
1.83 GAA
.941 SV%

Well, their top three points scorers so far (two of whom are Sharks prospects with the other being a 30-year-old AHL lifer) are all new to the team per HockeyDB.

Well, we had Graf on hand in our camps and should have signed him! Plus Cagnoni we could have picked before Jatkola or Willis or MacKinnon, so yeah, we should have had all those guys, and their farm team should be sucking much more. :sarcasm:

Hindsight drafting leads only to frustration and sorrow. I strongly recommend against it.

Eh like I said in another thread somewhere, lets see how he looks in the last month of the season and the playoffs. Askarov did well in the regular season, its when thing got down to crunch time that he fell apart.
