24 25 English Cup Thread

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

No idea how they found 9 minutes of stoppage time

This was a very 0-0 go to PKs game and they scored because Harvey Elliott decided to play volleyball defense on a bicycle kick. Good job by Plymouth. LFC obviously have bigger fish to fry

That was one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. Who puts their arms up to block a bicycle kick.
Maybe he played volleyball as a kid and just got confused for a second.

Lol you made the joke already, didn't see that. Damn

Yeah I mean it’s an indefensible team performance and Elliott was the face of it. It was horrible. Puts more pressure on winning the Derby midweek. But again if we win (at least) one of the three competitions they are alive in. No one is going to be anything more than minority annoyed about going out here

It's easy to say now that they've lost, but Slot's rotation previously of giving guys 45 ish minutes probably works better than sitting them for a full 90.
Diaz and Jota ended up playing a full 90 minutes and will probably be involved somehow on Wednesday. That doesn't make sense.
Giving everyone except maybe Szobo, Grav, Salah (as they've played a ton) 30-40 minutes makes more sense.

It looks like Spurs haven't spent a single second in training all year on how to do *anything* within their own third, either with or without the ball.

So many players are absolutely lost.

I know us losing against a bottom-dweller championship club was bad, but liverpool decided to take it to another level lol.

Taylor is such an awful official.

Player gets hit in the head with the ball and goes straight down. He lets Villa try to break out, get stopped, and turn the ball over, and then lets Spurs get a cross in without blowing dead for a head injury.

It was bad enough that Porro was over to check on Digne before he actually blew the whistle to stop play.
