On the one hand, Bergvall should have gotten a yellow for the Tsimikas tackle. On the other hand, Diaz should have been booked for the first tackle, so it would have been incredibly harsh to send Bergvall off for one yellow card offense.

That's not how it works though.

I now expect a third page essay on how Arsenal got f***ed up by FA PGMOL in that Tottenham vs Liverpool game.

On replay it looks like maybe the referee pointed at the ball as if he wasn't calling a foul because Bergval got the ball.

It's hard to see if that was actually a split second advantage call though. It certainly wasn't a traditional advantage motion and wasn't held for remotely near the typically time for a tackle like that.

Regardless of what way it turned out, it's a trash ref call.

Virgil leave the ref alone please. The dude will literally not have a good answer to explain himself and you’ll just get in trouble.

I wanted a draw for that fixture but that game is a further proof that officiating is terrible in England.

The referee will obviously get the attention, but Liverpool hardly played well. Near full strength but couldn't score on this absolutely botched backline. Brought the cavalry off the bench whilst Spurs had Johnson, Werner and a bunch of kids.

I am just amazed Diaz doesn't get booked with the amount of diving that guy does.

I don’t think anyone is melting down. I think it’s another example, of many well documented examples of horrible officiating in an LFC @ Tottenham game in London.
Your manager and entire coaching staff were in full on meltdown mode.

Yeah we were shit. Might not be the worst thing that ever happened. Team is getting a nice wake up call.

LFC bad first half. Good second half until the goal. Tottenham wasn’t any good either. They scored a goal by a guy that shouldn’t have been on the pitch. It happens leg two at Anfield.

And I don’t know why you a negative to your own players. Both Johnson and Werner are better than Son right now, so I don’t exactly think you guys got more weak as the game went on either.

Either way, genuinely hope Bentancur is okay because that did not look good. No one wants to see that happen.

Onto the the next one.

Having a bad January on and off the field is our lose condition. That being said if we are going to have a bad game, may as well be on the road in the first leg of a semi of a cup that we won last year

Yes - that was bad. He didn’t need to either. That was dumb.

I don’t think they were very happy, but I doubt Angie would have been happy if the roles were reversed. He’s pretty clearly changed his tone on the officiating in the PL since that game last season. Or maybe he doesn’t care when things go his way. Whatever.
