I know people are pissing all over Strait for that 2nd goal, but I thought he did his job, that goal is all on Ochocinco

I appreciate what Martin does, but he is one of our worst heavyweights ever. Wins MAYBE half of his fights.

Well, I definitely think he wins more than half, and even if it is only half: what he brings with hits and actually being able to play the game probably makes him one of the most valuable heavyweights in the league.

For what it's worth, if we put Martin on the trade block today I'd be pretty surprised if we couldn't get a 2nd for him. Maybe even a later pick as well. Playoff teams value guys like him ridiculously.

One thing I noticed, on the Caps PP, one person always manages to sneak up behind the D, and have that open net/shot just like Ovi did the other night.

It happened the other night and it happened in this game - although they didn't score. Why did it happen? If it was a known mistake, why isn't it being addressed? (That is very rhetorical, I know)

The second cap goal was also deflected by strait. Tough to read a puck that ramps off a stick.

People hate on Johnson, as if they have no idea what backups around the league are doing. That was an awful play by Strait. His gap control was terrible, let Mojo skate it, and then screened Johnson and put his stick on the shot to ramp into the goal.

I didn't think it did, it appeared to me Johnson was thinking Johansson was going to pass it across and he was cheating, as soon as Johansson noticed that he shot it...that move may work in the AHL but not the NHL.

I never considered Martin a "heavyweight", he is basically a 4th liner energy guy who can fight(more of a middleweight)

thrilled we're tied, and i hate blaming individual players -- but we can't win with our goalie allowing 2 goals on 5 shots. it's getting kind of ridiculous.

Thank you. As a defender you have to close down the gap when a forward is coming down. Strait left him ACRES of room.

Okay.. 1-877-Kars4Kids is now officially my most hated commercial. Next would be the stupid lotto commercial with the top hats.. GAHHH I hate MSG Commercials.

Heh. You remember them, and your post that evangelizes them is the exact reason why blacktout rules exist. :)

I think it's obvious that Lee should absolutely not get sent down when Grabner comes back. He's great in the corners and is awesome when he gets to the front of the net

It was on both of them and I firmly believe that.

1) Strait gave the shooter to much room
2) Johnson was not even paying attention
3) Shooter shoots, goal

If Johnson's save percentage is below .870 after this game and one more played he will have the worst save percentage through 10 full games played since............Tommy Soderstrom in October 1995.
