Yeah that's true. If they were to bring in Kerfoot(at 1.75) and then a legit 2C next year that could be pretty nice for next year. Especially considering I feel like Kerfoots playmaking could compliment Colton and Wood pretty well.

The issue would be if Kerfoot is supposed to be the 2C fix for this season.

But Kerfoot between Lehkonen and Rantanen might work. Nuke and Drouin with Mack. The Colton line. Parise, Cogs, Wagner 4th. Kovalenko and possibly Landeskog coming in.

There's really not any options unless we want to trade Byram or Girard and I can't see the team doing that

That absolutely will not work. Kerfoote isn't even as good as Henrique. This will just be Compher 2.0.

I’m ready to be very disappointed. The Avs management seems to be delusional thinking they can win with MacK having a MVP season, and they probably think Colton LOC Wood is truly a 2nd line, and they gonna get Kerfoot as a depth center like they did with Eller and call it a day

Compher is much better than Kerfoot. Kerfoot as a 4C maybe passable, but he can’t be anything more than that on a team that wants to win the cup

My point was that none of those guys are a good enough acquisition. None of them move the needle for this team. It'll be another wasted year.

I don’t feel like doing a google search but when’s the last time the avs brought a player back ? Tanguay ? It seems that when the Avs let go (free agency or trade) they dont look back . I guess Jack Johnson would count ? (Edit)

Kerfoot is likely a smokescreen

JMFJ, Nemeth, Soderberg. It’s happened a few times recently

It's going to be ryjo + for Kerfoot.
And I am fine with this, to get out from RyJo, but it better not be the only move. They'd still need a 2C. RyJo + a 1st for Kerf + Dumba (50% retained)

Byram for Mittelstadt.

JD/Mack/Nuke
Lehky/Fatty/Mikko
Wood/Rosco/LOC
Cogs/Kerf/Parise
(maybe Landy at some point)/Wags/Kovel

Toews/Makar
G/Maz
JMFJ/Dumbo
Jones/Malinski

Typical stupid Pens ****. Likely missing the playoffs, 1st rd pick goes to SJ either this year or next (top 10 protected this year), no 3rd this year, no 2nd next year, and in cap hell.

Apparently have a chance to move off the 4 years at $5.125M AAV for a 31 year old Rust for some assets and are like, "nope, too much respect for him. Not even gonna try."

You do realize he’s partially responsible for the club’s salary cap position right?

You do realize he's partially responsible for the team that is:

5th in win % in the west
10th in win % in the league
1st in goals scored in the league

All with:

Lehkonen missing 35 games
Nichuskin missing 22 games
Girard missing 21 games

That absolutely will not work. Kerfoote isn't even as good as Henrique. This will just be Compher 2.0.

Good. We should have never let Compher go

So are we expecting to get a center for free? Or will we have to give up important pieces like Byram or Girard from a team which is already struggling to defend?

Ive never suggested the team is bad. So I don’t get your argument. Makes no sense.

We’re discussing trade possibilities and you argued the cap is hindering him. I merely made the point that the cap problem is his own doing.

Somehow that discussion is related to the Avs in the standings… somehow.
I’d rather stay on point rather than strawman.
