Wow, so after a rough game or two all of the sudden Georgiev isn’t even a good backup?

Not every goalie is a “franchise” goalie. Those are usually picked within the first 5 picks of a draft. Other than getting lucky with like a henrik who we picked in the 20th rd, most goalies you have you hope are good enough to keep you in the game and make that big save occasionally.
 
Hank wasnt even in the league when he was Georgiev's age. Georgie has had a rough season for sure, but he has shown flashes of being a very very good backup and potentially even a good starter. He was never the plan for the future, that guy is tearing up the AHL right on track with the plan. Georgie just kind of fell into our laps at a development camp, no one should be mad about him.

We best keep that Svech, Aho and Teravanon line in check because other than the Pasta,Marchand and Bergeron line until Rantanen and Landeskog come back from the IR to play with MacKinnon again, there aren't too many more lethal lines in hockey than those three together.

And Hamilton has been ridiculous as well. I watch alot of the Canes due to my fantasy shit and this Cane team will be a very tough game for us. Oh and Mrazak tho his #'s aren't awesome goes on streaks where he thinks he's Domink Hasek.

It's going to take a monster effort from everyone tonight to pull off the upset. Hopefully Mika coming back is the inspiration we need...here's to hoping!!

With the way the team has been hyping Zibanejad on social media with his return, I will be utterly disappointed if he doesn't skate onto the ice with the 'C' on his jersey.

Totally normal to make a video about a player returning from injury and title it "The Franchise"

Mhmmmmm...nothing to see here.

As soon as I saw that video they posted on twitter I thought he’s being named captain tonight. It’s a pretty dramatic video to make just for a player returning from an injury lol
And the way they’re all mentioning leadership

We have a potential franchise goaltender in the AHL, and he is not getting a shot because Georgiev, and nothing Georgiev has done, in either of his seasons, has given me reason to believe he has a higher ceiling than Shesterkin.
 
Hoping for a better effort than the prior game vs these guys but the same result. Interested to see how the bottom 2 lines are constructed.

This would be a mistake.

I would keep the top-6 exactly as is. No reason to fix what isnt broken. You keep Panarin-Strome-Fast as the first line, keep Kreider-Chytil-Buchnevich together who have had great chemistry [Chytil already has 7 goals], and make the third line Lemieux-Zibenejad-Kakko.

You essentially have three lines that can bury the puck. Evenly split ice time to keep them fresh. It's like having a good first line, and two solid second lines.

That line was already broken up
 
Mika Zibanejad is back for the Rangers tonight. He will center Chris Kreider and Pavel Buchnevich to start. Ryan Strome will start at RW on a line with Filip Chytil and Artemi Panarin. Micheal Haley is out.

Quinn didn’t sleep last night thinking about having to put Howden at 4C. Couldn’t do it

I’d have liked to see Kakko play with a good center for a change but this is Ok I guess.

I don’t see why you wouldn’t just go Panarin Mika Strome if anything. And leave the Chytil line alone. Especially after he said he likes having a right hand center getting the puck to Panarin
