He got screwed over with his current contract. Bad. And the Rangers are going to want a long-term deal. Not arbitration to make the next contract even worse. And what attitude issues? You mean the maturity issues? I don’t see any this year.

he didn't get screwed, he had no leverage and the team had no money. he just has a lot of people lobbying for him on the board in a weird reversal of most contract stances.

i dont think the Rangers care about their capsheet 3 or 4 years from now wrt locking him up now "cheaper". If he earns it, he earns it. Brady Skjei is a good example of giving a guy 5M+ early for a long ass time and how that's not always a good idea.

I agree, although the Wild are also really good defensively. Just glad Chtyil-Buchnevich are still together.

That's been a pretty consistent theme from them under Boudreau: super low event, but they've somehow found a way to completely eliminate quality against, even while giving up more shot attempts than they generate.

I think he'll stay for a while, have a bad half year at some point, and get traded for 50 cents on the dollar. Then he'll have a PPG for the last 26 games of the year with his new team as this board melts down with daily gnashing of teeth.
